Well, ain't that grand.
Looking into grand am more appears to be "Just give up".
So what the fuck is this shit. My 318ti's cooling system blew up in the same fucking parking lot as the 316i it replaced less than a year ago.

Depending on the year, that's more or less the same car.

Pretty much that, or retro-fitting stuff from other 3100-3800 motors. It's a shame since those cars seem to be ridiculously reliable.
im probably late with the whole french car garbage talk, but I've recently started working at a honda/citroen dealership as a mechanic apprentice, and funnily enough, the citroens all have a million different recalls, while the hondas get none.

wow that sucks, expansion tank explosion? Happened to my mom's E39 touring last month, 2nd time in 2 years

Only beef with Honda are their diesel engines, otherwise they're mechanically and electrically solid.
Also Citroens with the 1.6L turbodiesel engine LOVES to clog themselves up with soot if not driven like you've stolen them, personal experience from preparing a hilarious amount of Peugeots and citroens with that engine for vehicle inspection.
They always fail it because of the soot build-up.
I think I might've found my EF shitbox hatch.
Time for new valve cover gasket :) Well, for the oil on the plugs issue, that is.
The valve cover gasket doesn't affect the spark plugs on this car, there's individual gaskets for each of the spark plug tubes. But the gasket is brittle and corroded, so I'm replacing it anyways. Plus the 4 spark plug tube gaskets, new spark plugs, and new ignition coils. Hoping that's all that's wrong, I really don't want to do an engine rebuild.

That's a really really good deal, as long as it's been converted to OBD1 and is running a P28 or something. If it's a Monotech harness you could contact him and see what would be the best way to go about adding the vtec and o2 sensor stuff. He should be able to fix you up a extension harness to just pin into what you have already so you don't even have to hack up wires.
Man, car guys out here are so much nicer than in LA. I misheard guy I ordered my EGR valve from and thought he was quoting $100 less than he did, and when I called back saying that card would decline after looking at the receipt today, he said no problem, he'd just charge it minus the core, which I haven't even gotten off the motor yet, so I could afford it. That's never happen in LA.

Oh for the mani gaskets he says are bad, buy a new throttle body gasket and intake mani gasket from Honda. If you order off like HondaPartsUnlimited they're not badly priced. Buy the intake gasket for a Z6 and the throttle body gasket for whichever throttle body you are using. It's also possible the injector seals could be bad since he's swapped them about. I can guarantee the idle screw has been messed with and that's probably causing the most issues. Replace all that, set the timing then set your base idle according to the Helms manual procedures and then you should be solid.
Ordered tires LAST NIGHT through Tirerack, they arrived today! I still am amazed at their shipping speed! Sure, it's only Connecticut they have to come from, but still, what company ships that fast?? I can't even get the post office to send a letter down to MA in 1-2 days unless I pay extra for the overnight/next day shipping.
Well, since my car is all finally working again, ive started my experimenting with e85. I completely agree with trek. At least in crown vics, corn juice makes it faster. I didn't get any air though.
I used dashcommand to do a quarter mile run before and after. 16.06 on a 1/4th tank of 87 octane and 15.86 with 1/4 e-10 and 3/4 e-85. Thats .2 seconds faster after adding 97 lbs of fuel. It spun the tires a bit on the startoff of the e85 run, and didnt on the first one. The butt dyno confirms the gain in torque.

As an eBay seller I once got a buyer the next town over and I just dropped the package off at their doorstep on my lunch.

I ordered a strut for my car and it came next day too. It's fantastic.
Ok its a 1983 v8 land rover, not a diesel, and Im going to the town over to actually inspect it and ask some questions today. Wish me luck! Is there anything specific I should be looking out for?
Why the fuck the steering goes weird over 100km/have would be a damn good one
Why the fuck the steering goes weird over 100km/have would be a damn good one
I mean if anythings at the top of my list its that
Guys, where on earth is the dipstick on this 440? It's got a oil insertion tube that comes from the top of the right head and runs all the way to in front of the radiator, but there's no dipstick on the cap for that. I can't find anything else that remotely resembles a dipstick handle anywhere else.
Brake fluid resivoir would be helpful, too.
Brake fluid res would be interested don't fucking know.
Dip shit is Mia can you dial a friend?

Looks like something us northerners would kill for, that's not much rust.

look for rust. not that big a deal in australia but it is a british car so it's worth looking out for. british cars in my experience tend to be not even worth scrap money at that age
[editline]8th October 2016[/editline]
and this is coming from a guy who's old and lame enough to love british cars so be on the look out.
also british electrical stuff tends to be shit so make sure everything you give a shit about works

Are you drunk, or am I just that tired? I can't make heads or tails of this.
I'm so glad to know there's someone here more incoherent than my drunk ass
today i learned:
Installing a new stereo blows when you have to convert it from shaft to DIN. I wish there was some sort of convenient plug that just switched it over instead of expecting me to re-fucking-wire the thing.

This has to be PUI
Slightly.
Still makes sense to me. I belive I ment to say
break fluid res would be a interesting one that I don't fucking know.
The dip shit is MIA, can you dial a friend?
You know... you lost the dip shit.... and you need to dial a friend to get it back...... no?
I thought it was funny hrs ago but I can see the confusion.
But in all honestly the break fluid res is most likely near the pedals accessible upfront in radiator compartment. And the dips stick situation it's on the driver side on 460s and other small block ford's so..... look there?

You could just buy a plug for it, at least that's what I do for vag, bmw and Volvo . Unless I'm stupid and shaft is some obscure wiring type.
