So my friend just had his miata vandalized, the weird part was that his rear window was smashed through with a flywheel? [t]http://i.imgur.com/mK3lVBI.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/1LndTU3.jpg[/t]
Sounds like someone just gave him money, I've heard of dumping a few hundred pounds of junk transmissions and shit on peoples door steps but never someone throwing what looks to be a moderately expensive part through someone's window. He could probably use the insurance money and flywheel to purchase a hardtop even.

It's even wrapped in plastic what the fuck.
Fuck this, I'm gonna start taking the bus from now on. As if yesterday wasn't bad enough, I took my mom's van on a 2.5hour trip to a nearby city for some school stuff, and as I was about to head back home it died on me right on the street. I got it fired back up again and into a mall parking lot. I already had an idea of what was wrong because after it died I couldn't get the dashboard to light up again, or start the car. Hazards still worked. Went into a hardware store and bought a screw driver, pulled the shroud behind the steering wheel, and was greeted with what I expected: One of the wires had come loose. [t]http://i.imgur.com/bY6gO2M.jpg[/t] I had wired up the radio to the constant on wire going into the ignition switch, and apparently my crimper didn't do a good enough job, so the cable shoe came right off. Of course, the hardware store didn't have that shoe in stock, so I had to do some hack job with some new wire about half the size of the old one (that still somehow fit into a butt connector with the old wires), because the old wire was of course way too short. Spent at least an hour working on that in the parking lot, even managed to rip out another wire while I worked on it, that wasn't as bad to fix though.

Also the miata is under liability so he's kinda screwed over in that regard
I did buy my first piece of furniture though: [t]https://scontent.fosl1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-0/s600x600/14717169_10154412105025027_6376999523725120704_n.jpg?oh=bc176a9016220c375b19a5a4fc178350&oe=589C0F8B[/t] It's a Playseat racing rig with a G27, got it for a pretty nice sum.
Turns out the flywheel was stolen from that dodge dart next to him, he had to return it. Is this some weird comedy sketch?

Can't ask questions about people's actions. That oh shit moment when a TxDPS officer does a u-turn behind you quickly catch up to you and turn on his lights. I started to slow down (was goign 30) and got 2tires off in the grass, bout that time I herd him kick it down and pass me up to get the person infront of me instead. Mini heart attack because I thought I fucked in a school zone.

It's really not even near as much as full coverage. I'm pretty sure vandalism is covered under like all the most basic plans in Oregon but I know every state differs significantly.
Don't doubt my laziness. I aint got all day to watch a small stream of oil come tricking down. [t]http://i.imgur.com/SJBZC88.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/lOWNmZn.jpg[/t] Fuck you cheap ass water hose. Also Im going to guess no one here wants me to plaster 3-8mb photos in full bore here to rape their phone data plans....

At one point on campus my E46 got keyed already, which really sucks. Luckily it's shallow enough that I can buff it out, but bad enough that it was mildly infuriating when I saw it

They slashed up his seats, they broke his window, they pried off the piano hing on his toolchest to get into that, they pulled the stereo and took his upholstry and tried to set fire to it in the back. But it's not that which puzzles us. With the toolchest open they only stole a shitty broken portable drill and its dead spare battery. The stereo while pulled out was sitting on the passenger seat and....there was a crack pipe in the ashtray. :what: The only thing he says he'll miss is his iPhone 4s but none of us could figure out how a druggie could make it 30 clicks into the woods to fuck up a car and otherwise not steal the car, the stereo or the other $3000 in tools in the chest.
Today I powerwashed the roof, replaced the rotten parts of the frame, and replaced the old useless fridge vent with a piece of aircraft aluminum. Took me forever to do it because I couldnt find my caulk gun. Almost all my tools were packed up because we had a company come in and paint the floor of our garage last week.
My neighbor cleaned out their garage today to make room for the Hilux over the winter. It's getting a new engine of some sort.. either this one rebuilt, or a 1UZ V8 swap. Time will tell. But it was nice to see it outside. Galvanic corrosion locked the 10mm bolts into the housing, both snapped, and luckily the housing is removable and they were broken off fairly long. Just added a little PITA. I finally got it out and got allll the bars off. The SUS is having a starting issue. Cranks over plenty fast, though takes 2x longer than my OBS to start. Occasionally when hot, it takes 3-5 seconds of cranking to start. When kicking down to idle off from A/C, it will idle rough for a bit. SUS is the EJ25D. New fuel filter, new plugs, new air filter, cleaned all grounds and battery connections. Tested the TPS; Should be .45-.55V idle, 3.9-4.5v wide open. Was .55 idle, 3.0 wide open. Resistence was also a bit low. Not sure if the TPS could cause long cranking? Tested the coil pack. It's not perfect, but it's within specs. My other one was well out of spec before I had issues. Checked knock sensor. It's in good shape. Cleaned the mount + base, did high mileage relocation mod. Will likely swap the new one from my OBS. Plan to clean the IACV, have not tested this nor the crank sensor(s?) From what i've read, it's very uncommon that it's fuel related on these. I did start running injector cleaner after this issue started.
I think I'm going to have to adjust or replace my steering box. Starting to get some weird play in the steering. $100 part. Not worth replacing unless I'm in a jam. However, timing couldn't be better. If I can get it through the winter without breaking, I'm golden. Planning on buying a new vehicle next summer and probably keeping the blazer to do a 350 swap for fun/hobby.

Blazers are fun and comfy but jesus sticking a 350 in one is one hell of a fit.

Forgot to mention, the SUS has a MAF sensor. I have yet to test or clean it, as i forgot it has it. Other car has a MAP sensor. Reading up on it, a bad MAF can cause the car to not start whatsoever and is worth looking into.

I've been dreaming of a 1UZ or 3UZ swapped HiLux for a while now, since I saw Roadkill's mazdarati. I'd do it in a slightly newer one though, either a fifth gen: [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e8/1994-1995_Toyota_Pickup_RN80_%28US%29_front.jpg/1920px-1994-1995_Toyota_Pickup_RN80_%28US%29_front.jpg[/t] or a sixth gen [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7e/1997-2001_Toyota_Hilux_%28RZN149R%29_2-door_utility_%282011-07-17%29_01.jpg/280px-1997-2001_Toyota_Hilux_%28RZN149R%29_2-door_utility_%282011-07-17%29_01.jpg[/t] Gotta have the money, time and place to work on it though, before I can even think about it.
How bulletproof are synchros? I've been driving a Mazdaspeed 3 for the past year, and its clutch literally has no bite point. (Im pretty sure it's the soft, tuned clutch fix Mazda put out a few years ago for the MS3's/MS6's). Because of this, I basically grind gears after not fully decompressing the clutch when quick-shifting at high RPM. It doesn't happen all the time, but its not uncommon. How tough are those little things? I really dont want to double clutch every gear in the next years of owning this car.
Didnt k5's come with 350s?
K5's came with 350's. They also came with the 400, and 6.2 diesels. Surprisingly, they weren't offered with a 454.
Well, I may be being silly, but I consider the K5 to be the one true blazer and all other types to be badge engineered wannabe blazers.
The RV's 440 is really acting up since I let the mechanic tune it to get through smog. I don't know what he did to it but now it's incredibly cranky to start when cold and backfires, bogs down, and/or stalls when trying to go hard throttle at low speed, such as when going up a steep hill from a standstill. Once it warms up it behaves a bit better but still bogs down on sudden hard throttle from low speed. I'm not a carburetor guy, what do I do?
Throw an EFI kit on it. As a random thought, why aren't there any "cheap" superchargers like there are turbos. I know the turbos have a more universal application, but you'd think there would be a few.

Best thing you can do is remove the carb and give it a good cleaning, there's tons of tutorials on how to do so. Carbs aren't that complicated.
