Are starter solenoids interchangeable? Fucked up the positive thread on the solenoid, and it would be much cheaper to buy a new solenoid than an entire starter.
I know it's possible on older starters, but some newer ones are a PITA to renovate.
And then there's the matter of getting a replacement solenoid assembly, I've seen cases where it's cheaper to exchange to a already renovated starter than buying the part in question to renovate yourself.
Well damn, that sucks. I bought a brand new starter today, was installing it and ended up overtightening a nut and the damn thread sheared off. So pissed at myself now

sometimes there interchangeable between different lines (AKA Ac Delco line A and Ac Delco line B) and it's more common with older models but that's not always the case
Everything that needed to be open was open, also checked regularly if the fluid level lowered but nothing happened.
Also the fluid goes from the reservoir to the main cilinder and (and back to the reservoir) but to nowhere from there.
(shitty sketch ahoy)

doesn't flow trough red, does flow trough green.
there is a vacuum when pumping the break tough.
All lines and hoses are new.
Holyshit I've never seen a brakejob gone wrong on that level. Grab a new brake master cylinder and try her out.
Sometimes a master cyclinder will deair its self sometimes it wont. Im guessing you replaced everything for a reason of corrosion and age....

Welp, tried to fix it. Just ruined the remnants of the thread even more :v:
I'm gonna try to return the starter tomorrow. Maybe it'll fall under the warranty or they'll be super nice and give me a refund anyways because I go to their store all the time :p
Welp, car is paid off entirely and only worth $4k, so do I keep it and get a new-to-me reliable car and keep it as a project scrapper, or trade it in and be bored with just one vehicle still?
If it's reliable, hang on to it and get something unreliable but fun. :v:
truks are reliable and fun when you switch over to bald tires when its raining.
[editline]fgefg[/editline] Whatever you do don't attempt to have fun in your M/T tires, you tend to break things easier.
I've got bald general grabbers on all 4 corners of my silverado for maximum dorifuto

actually just because I've still got a little bit of tread in the rear and don't have belt showing yet
Guys...

Remember how about a week and a half ago I had my car towed to my mechanic? Well in the space between the 17th and the 24th, someone backed into it while it was on his lot (which is shared with the laundromat next to it) and fucked that fender right up, and of course they hit it right on that crease. No note, no number, no paint transfer, nothing. No trace of anyone who did it. I went to the police and they couldn't find any nearby cameras that would have seen it. Now I'm worried my insurance will total it because I can't find that fender fucking anywhere, and on top of that it's custom paint they'll have to color match.

Every line that went outside got replaced, I looked at them funny when removing them and they started leaking. Also reworked the calipers, took them apart and replaced the parts (some parts were stuck so I was only breaking for like 75℅ w bad pads too) , also put new cilinders in the drumbreaks since someone broke the bleeder of and it was leaking a bit

It was on the mechanics property, in his Care, his responsibility.
Put the Stage 1 ECU in the PT Cruiser! Works like a charm! Thing will chirp tires in third now. I think there's a boost leak or the computer is still learning, feels like it's not hitting full boost. I may need to put a new gasket on the intake manifold.

Yep. Make it his problem. He's a mechanic, so make him fix it. He shouldn't have left your car out where it could be backed into in the first place.
e; I reached out to a few local yards, will see if I can come up with a fender for you. What year is your car?
I agree. It's the mechanic's responsibility.
As for that fender, try checking out the MR2 facebook groups, people are always parting out. MR2OC and MR2.com are good resources too - I have a spare front fender like that for my MK1 but I don't think it's for that side, otherwise I'd send it to you for the cost of shipping.
The RV generator still won't start. Fucking thing has even less spark now than with the old nasty points and I even put a new voltage condenser in it along with the new points.
I've put out the red alert to my "fix anything RV for a case of beer" buddy and he'll make it run on Sunday. You know the kind of guy, those veteran guru mechanics who can fix anything with the tools in their truck and do it for alcohol.
Lol! This is me. I get hit up at least once a week to come take a look at someone's car in exchange for a visit to my favorite brewery or a good bottle of vodka. At this juncture I don't need the money and I gain more pleasure from spending time with people I don't know very well, while learning something new every time.

I'm slowly descending down this path, except it's technical shit in general and not just cars.
I count myself lucky that all it took to fix the generator in the bus was a fresh spark plug, fresh gas, baging the dirt outof the filter, and a good amount of seafoam.
Seafoam is wildly underrated. Every oil change on my bike I toss in a bit of seafoam in the tank and I haven't had to touch my carbs since I rebuild them a year ago. It really does the trick when used appropriately.

Of course I took it up with him. He told me his shop's insurance only covers if he or any of his crew are driving it, or if it's in his shop. Nothing about the parking area. Also, it's a 1985 MK1a, and you guys are too kind :cat:
Went out on a long shot and stopped by the dealer, they were super cool about it and rebooted the SAM in the e320 for free now my gauges are back. Other good news includes I installed the new blower motor, some new tires, and a new thermostat. Still waiting on the fucking window regulator though. The E is coming along just fine :)
Woohh! managed to get all the air of of my breaksysteem! Forced some oil trough the system and then bled it like normal.

What an asshole, 0 integrity. I haven't heard back yet but I'll keep looking.
I just realized I haven't watched a single episode of Roadkill in about 6 months and that makes me seriously excited to watch all of the Roadkill.

I'm remaining optimistic. I brought in a tire from the fury that had a hole in it for him to fix, and he fixed it and mounted it for free, maybe, just maybe he'll do the work on the MR2 at least at a discount.
The place I just got off the phone with had an MR2, but they crushed it last week. :( Nowhere else I've called has had one in years.

Will an '86 fender fit?
So, put the starter on, still nothing. It feels like the car is super close to starting, I feel the engine rumbling a little and I hear the starter whirring, but the engine doesn't turn over. Any ideas?
