Those were made with Paper mache in place of sheet metal, weren't they? (No I didn't watch the full video, I just remember seeing several of them when touring Poland and Slovakia)

i think it was called duraplast, and it was like fiberglass kindof but with cotton fiber instead of glass

So, basically? Haha.
Wash them whenever I could. Usually it would get to cold to actually wash, just ice over. I thought about doing the POR-15 on the bottom, but not sure. I guess I'll just clean it more often. Heh
Neons rot, I'd recommend not running it. If you do, get it professionally undercoated, like the oil based stuff, inside the door panels, too. Or if you wanna DIY get on with something like raptor liner or upol multi liner. Rust free srt 4s are rare rare, so if yours is rust free do all you can to keep it so.
I may have found the solution...
I should buy another...

He did do that though, and we all hated him because he should've just put on snow tires. He made up for it when up in Vermont, but still, it was a stupid video. I still really like the interesting facts he shares though. His write ups are decent too. His humor isn't great, and he's a little conservative in pushing cars, but at least he knows how to find obscure cars and shit. When I first found his videos, I couldn't wait for new ones to get posted. Now that he's trying a few different things here in there, I get tad less excited, but he still wins my subcription/like/etc.
I think of Chris Harris as the best of the best right now, but his Top Gear contract has his content all sporadic. Ever since Drive+ arrived, things changed. Some for the good, others not so much.
Miss Top Gear too, although I was admittedly starting to find some of the "humor episodes" a bit hit or miss. Kinda wanted the older series' style back, with more technical focus and reviews.

...I'm pretty sure this is why my fuel pump died after running for 25 years.
Between that, some seals and hoses, the brake cylinder, new drum pads, a parking brake linkage adjustment, some replacement bolts, the brace replacement and a brake fluid replacement it was $700 parts.
[editline]asdas[/editline] And $1100 labour. :suicide:
I knew I should of fucking done this in the driveway.
25 years on a fuel pump is a great. Mine died 13 years in
Hahahahaha. :v:
So they left the parking brake off and overwrote most of my dash cam. What was not overwritten however was them test driving the car and heckling the shit out of my noisy-ass transmission and bitching about my CB antenna hitting the lights when they drove it in the shop.
Hello I'm a GM400 and I eat fuel pumps every other year resulting in the ritual of bed tilting.
[editline]fgfdg[/editline] Bed bending is also a thing too.
Wonder how far my 90' Miata's pump will make it? May only have 31k miles on the car, but age sometimes gets to these things, no? Granted, no mechanical failures in the last year/11k miles I've put on it. I often think about what could go though due to age. Keep thinking I might want to do some of the belts because of mild squeaking. Only other maintenance that is pending are brakes. They are all scored and it looks like all the autocrossing left deposits from the pads on the rotors.
But for real, am I paranoid or would I notice shit by now if belts and pumps seriously needed changing. In all my years driving, I've never dealt with that kind of stuff going, only batteries and fuses. Nothing truly mechanical. Surprising, since there is 250k hard miles on the family-shared 01 Kia Optima.
You need to do constant preventive maintenance on your muffler bearings and lamb sensor. (It will go off if there are too many lambs going through your tailpipe)
But in all honestly you control arm bushings are gonna die, anything suspension related is going to die because the little fucking boots crack and before you know it you have a god damn clunk.
Remember fluids are not lifetime fluids! You HAVE to change fluids no matter what.
Fuel pumps are fuel pumps. Go to any car forum and there will be at least 1000+ threads of fuel pump issues. It's normal. Be ready.
And most importantly take care of your engine bay. If you pull up with an engine bay like this and you need a mechanic to look at something 99% of the time the mechanic is going to think in the back of his head "Holy shit this guy fucking takes care of his vehicle".

Makes oil be able to spot too.
Luckily I'm not so oblivious that I don't have any idea how anything works. I've changed ALL the fluids since getting it, along with new shocks. Been putting off the bushings partially because of mileage. Everyone says they are a bitch to change, they do cost a lot, and people claim they go at much later mileage. Still, they probably aren't ideal. But again, since jack shit has happened to concern me about them, I feel comfortable pushing them for another year or two.
Alright, last time I'll post about a PT for a while.
But... This is a beast.

Lol. You'd be surprised how fast these are. That's only 10lbs of boost. That thing does 25psi...

Just the suburban has a door, the two trucks here have plenty of anti-seize gooo on the bed bolts so its just a quick 6 zaps and they are off.
Plus both trucks roll with toolboxes so you would have to remove the toolbox to get to the hatch anyway.

I don't bolt down my toolbox, just have some studs welded to it that fit matching holes in the bed sides. pick the toolbox up out of the way, move all the crap that accumulates under the toolbox, and open the hatch
some people dont even do that but my toolbox isn't super loaded down so I figure some sort of security couldn't hurt
For a daily, are Rota's really all that bad? It's not a powerful car at all and they're one of the few companies that make wheels in my weird ass bolt pattern (4x108 or 4x4.25) that I like.
Finished building a workshop in a big warehouse.

8k for a old ass Toyota with a 20r? Naw guy is crazy asking $8500.

That's what I was thinking. I was aiming for a late-80's Toyota truck, but I saw how clean that one was. Stuff like that is kinda rare up here in upstate New "dump salt on everything" York
when I find stuff that's way overpriced like that I just wait a month and if it's still up lowball the hell out of it. works sometimes. I'd rather not have the thing than spend twice what it's worth.
alternatively come buy one down south they're all over the place

It was so weird when I was in Mississippi and saw Jeeps that weren't completely rusted through.

Rotas are by far one of the best replica wheel companies and their wheels actually meet safety standards unlike most of the cheap ass knockoff wheels you get offered from a random tire shop from unknown brands. I wouldn't think twice about Rotas. There's a lot of track cars which use Rotas since they're far more expendable if you bend or break one than wheels which cost 4-5 times as much and can't be easily sourced.

I mean it was a frame off restoration, I'm kinda concerned by how rough it looks underneath again though, looks like the whole body needs to be repainted again. If that's what you're looking for and you plan to try to keep it clean as hell, it's a pretty awesome truck and would be great to continue.

Yeah that's true, I didn't notice that the first time I saw the pictures.
Maybe I'll keep looking.
I have to report.
After running now that tank of gas completly out and let my truck die, I have found out that the 2stroke gas that I got for free gave alittle bit of a peformance gain (possibly helped my ol worn out rings) that or it was like 92+ Octane (Which I dont even think my truck could even get any more peformance out of)
It did not smoke nor missfire at any time and my exhaust pipe is not dripping of oil but had a nice 2joke smell to it when it was running.
10/10 would do again.
[editline]12th November 2016[/editline]
After thinking about it is probably beneficial to your rings to run a mix. I could only imagine with a worn motor that it would possibly boost compression.
More tests are in order.
