I shamelessly do this at work every now and again.
When VWs and Volvos and New Fords and the like come in with these giant pieces of plastic across the bottom of the motor with 400 screws in them, I usually leave quite a few out when I put them back on. There is no reason to have that many screws. There's hardly a reason to have such a retarded amount of plating at all.
really? if i drop a car off with xxx screws, it should come back with xxx screws
it isn't your job to decide whether the plating is necessary
:v: this is why no one trusts mechanics to do it right. They'll do it, but GDit half of them halfass things all the way through.
I ALWAYS put all the screws back, if any break for what ever reason I ensure a replacement gets put in.
Leaving out screws in a customers car is how you get fired when they come back bitching to the boss about some plastic thats dragging or come loose.
I am a bad person
"quite a few" was probably not right.
Just put everything back and you won't have to worry. Assuming you worry at all, just think, if you spent the money your customers do on your own car, would you want some mechanic to leave parts off it?

No, you're right.
I don't even really do it.
I think I've done it like twice that I can even really think of? . Once tonight with an old VW with a torn up plate on the bottom I couldnt get to hang right. Was fried, shitposted about it.
Now my rep is tarnished
What's yalls opinions on the Volvo V60? My grandma's looking for a new car and her requirements are as follows.
AWD
300+hp
Enough room for a walker as my Grandpa's PD progresses
Fairly low to the ground. She's short and their current Cayenne is just too tall.
Heated seats
She generally sticks to luxury brands so I don't think she'll go for any Ford/Chevy/Toyota and the like.
they're not bad, but in that price range I'd get an a6 avant quattro or maybe an s6 avant quattro if the budget fits
maybe an a6 allroad if it's not too tall

Bit of Australian history, this one of the old Monaro's that the new one (rebranded in the US as the GTO) was built in memory of:

I think it's one of the most bad ass 1970s cars ever made.

Went to Thunderhill for a track day and during our breaks they had the "actual race guys" go out, so I went and filmed bits of it. Hyundai caught fire, lucky to have caught it on film! The driver was treated for smoke inhalation; one crew member had burns on his hand, otherwise everyone A-OK.

I think she just doesn't want to step down from her current Infinity G35x. She loves it but it's "getting old" and doesn't have enough room. She also doesn't like Audi's, should have mentioned that. They don't fit her right at all and she hated my Grandpa's old A6.

To get 300+ on the V60, she'd have to get either the T6 or Polestar trim level.

I feel that anything from Volvo with a turbo would suit her fine.
Neon has a boost leak. :(
Only hits 10psi. So there's another 80whp laying there waiting.

Hey, if somethin ain't burning, you're not rippin it hard enough bruhhhhhhhhhh
Reminds me I still need to shop around for a extinguisher and bracket to hold it for my Miata. I believe I did find one, just need to ask around if it's good. Hard to fathom a fire starting, short of a stupid crash. But I guess better safe than sorry, especially on an older car.
Fuck, my first tastes of trackdays next year better not ruin [del]me[/del] my car!
Also, wonder if the driver will try to salvage it or not....some people do that thing. Some burnt bits can be replaced, and extinguisher fluid can be cleaned. But at the same time, some parts really become beyond repair.

Yeah, honestly the 240 would be fine, but I think she'd end up going for the T6 just because anyways. She's really liking the MB GLC right now but wanted some other options to look at. But that's only 240 anyways. It's not a strict sticking point, she just wants something with a really nice punch.

That's the aftermath... people were saying it was totaled. :/
Completely unrelated tip to anyone building a racecar.
do not make a list of things you still need to buy in an excel sheet, from 0 to depressed in less then a second

On a serious note, this is the cage design I'll be having installed.

The total price for the cage will be about 2200$, unless the guy will allow me to pay cash without a vat receipt, then the price will be arround 1500$. Still a very good price for a cage that advanced, with papers n everything.
If everything goes right, the cage should go in next month.
[editline]15th November 2016[/editline]
[sp]And I'll be homeless the month after :v:[/sp]
My parents are pushing me to buy a car to help build my credit, even though my current car is just fine. I guess I'm looking at used Chargers. Anything to look out for? I don't want a V6. If I'm replacing my perfectly working Eclipse, I'm getting something with some guts.
Dont get a police resale one.

I learned that if you want to build credit by buying a car, you better have a BIG down payment.
Even with cosigner, they wanted 50% down with 25%APR.
I tried it on a few different cars, 06 Forester, 08 Outback, etc. At or under 100k miles, still the same.
If you already have credit, it may be different, but i literally have no credit score.

Get a credit card or two first.

Avoid first model year MBs, they always have some faults that are worked out by year 3.
Guy bought my firebird I bought an exploder with the moniez
