Do you even know what a sub machine gun is?
he's australian, he's never seen a gun in his life :v:
His government sells him the lie that guns are bad so that they can control him even more.

pretty much every member of my family have a commodore of some year hahah
I have my eyes set on my dads 383 hq premier though, that's a sexy beast. probably the sexiest ass on a car ever designed

If I had one, I'd really take care of it, get it serviced regularly, clean it, never eat in it.
I mean... the other option is driving through Australia where you get speared by an abo or poisoned by a spider, or a snake, or a scorpion, or a frog, or a bug, or a centipede, or a kangaroo, or horrible government anti violence propaganda?
Those things don't concern me, it's breaking down or running out of fuel that does, especially if you're on the reaaallly remote roads.
Oh and highway patrol, fuck them.
Also if I do ever go to America, I'm more interested in the 'fly-over' states than the pansy liberal states tbh.
Apart from Vegas no one outside America gives a shit about the blue parts, middle is America is just there to earn money for the coasts, they're called the fly over states for a reason, I mean what's there, Sears?. That's the problem with driving through America, you risk being shot in the face by some redneck gun nut.
I think you'll actually find that you'll have a higher chance of being shot or mugged then shot in a coastal city.
Is it wrong to love EVs and muscle cars equally? I often find it conflicting.

I come back this is somehow now Firearms Addicts Lounge.
Anyway. Thursday - Sunday is 50% everything at Pick-N-Pull, so I'm going to grab a turbofold off of a GT Cruiser. My PT Cruiser sounds like it has an exhaust manifold leak, plus I'll have a spare turbo when one of them dies.

The battery I bought 2 years ago for the vic just lost a cell.
Theres a lesson here boys and girls.

I thought you were supposed to replace the battery every 2 years anyway.
Will a tuned up ricer still use less fuel than a V8?
Will a tuned up ricer still use less fuel than a V8?
It depends entirely on the engine, how it's tuned, the transmission, and what level of performance it's putting out.
For example our ~250hp turbo 2.4L PT Cruiser with a tune and fat sticky tires gets about 21-24mpg on the freeway, while my stock ~230hp 4.6L N/A V8 Crown Victoria gets 27.
Yeah, our 2.4L PT Cruiser turbo is around ~250HP and gets 24-25mpg.
My 230HP Dakota 318 gets 18-19MPG.
It has largely to do with the gearing.
They both need a 5th gear. The PT would do awesome with another gear.

God what I wouldn't give for a better overdrive and another gear somewhere in the middle. That would make the car so much better to drive, and help manage the turbo lag so I actually have it on boost properly. Currently the gearing is way too wide. The big overdrive would make it not so shitty on the highway, to.

You can probably change the overall gear ratio by changing out the final drive gears. Since a TON of vehicles used the 41TE. I think our is a 2.84 or something, I hope it's not lower than that.
edit:
This says 3.91 final drive.

So you could probably swap gears from a 3.8L van which is around 3.45 I believe.

there have been 2 crimes committed with a legally owned machine gun in the whole history of the United States.

The threat of being shot or robbed by a gun in the US is so overblown. The only gun you'll likely to encounter if you break down is the one that a cop has.

Ive had them last much much longer with no prolem.

Exactly why we should carry one.
I took some reference pictures of the Skylark for a friend of mine doing 3D stuff and I may as well show them off here.

It's missing dead on front, rear, and top pics.

Speaking from personal experience, at least, I find flat on zero-angle side, front, rear, and top views to be the most useful out of all.
Pulled the engine

Next up is removing the ABS which I never use anyway. If I'll use ABS again, it will be a E46 M3 MK60 unit, it's a 4channel ABS system which is so good, it's used as standalone system on other racecars. The MK60 is also the base for the BMW motorsports ABS system, so thats nice. But it's kinda hard to find as the MK60 unit is primairly for the E46 M3 CSL. And dear god I don't even want to think about the required wiring for using it as standalone system.
And more of the GOOD FUN SEAM SEALANT REMOVING. fun fun fun

And now it's time to start the engine/ trans project I've decided. Going to clean up the trans and spray it with some aluminum colored engine paint, then tear down the engine to paint and regasket it! And slide in a cam, that kind of thing.

I started using a little wire cup on the trans with my cordless drill, and the battery died in like.. a minute. At that point it was like 1 am so I decided it was time to call it a night.

I also snapped one of the 4 bolts off on the trans for the trans mount... not sure if I'm going to fish it out of there or not, but that's something for future me to deal with.
Make sure to get the cast aluminum color, the aluminum color is like a really bright silver/grey. It's that really cheap color that people use on engines and it just comes out looking too perfect, uniform and bright to be anything like an aluminum block. I think the cast color is even pretty bright, it's definitely brighter than any cast aluminum intake mani.
