To the dude attempting to make a tach for their car:

studded tires are only legal here if there's currently ice on the roads. same as tire chains.
since theres never ice on the roads, they're basically illegal.
you're allowed to wear drag slicks or even bald hard compounds here in whatever weather you like but no studded that makes you a bad man
Okay so I've had a title issue with one of my cars for a while. I got a 300zx from someone and the title was still signed in his name. I got this car about a year ago and been trying to get a hold of both, well today I posted a ad to sell it. Then I got a message saying a guy can fix the title by soaking it in something and getting all of the ink off for 50 dollars. Now I'm not sure if anyone has heard of this? Should I do it? What would be a issue if I resigned the orginal sellers name and placed by name in the buyer part?
on a scale of 1 to 10 of illegality
probably about an 8

It will be fine. The DMV doesn't know its ass from its mouth. It will be the exact same situation as if the vehicle is in the owners name that printed on the title gets a new title from the DMV anyways.

In Oregon they're legal from November until April, despite 85% of Oregon's population either maybe getting half an inch of snow every 5 years and at least half of that other 15% getting an inch tops a year.
Also with chains there's no laws required to take them off at any time so you see fucking balls to the wall retarded braindeads driving around town in the dry with god damn chains on when there's a slight snow nearby.
So basically all year round these idiots drive around with studded tires and tear up our roads, as you can imagine it's not even enforced. They really need to ban them unless conditions warrant them. Studless tires are plenty for all of our snow unless you live in one of the areas you actually get snow.
man all this talk about winter tires and studded wheels and everything
I haven't seen snow in at least six/seven years where I live :v:
and I've never ever seen winter wheels or tire chains in the flesh
Welp, so I'm gonna take my cylinder head off, and give it to a shop for them to fix. I don't know what exactly is broken with it, but I don't want to put the timing belt back on only to find out that the pistons are trashed or something. Wish me luck :v:
yeah document forgery good idea
I know it's super illegal but I really want to legalize my car. I was dumb and bought it off someone I trust and now they fucked me over. I know it was totally my fault but all I want is my car legal
I guess the worse that could happen is I give the dude the title and either he just takes 50 and run or the process ruins it. The second option is I'll go to the dmv, they find some type of fraud and I'll tell them I had no idea and hopefully that works :v: ?
I get where youre coming from. The DMV/treasurers office here has got its head so far up its own ass that its almost impossible to do things the strictly legal way.
A friend got arrested for drunk driving, so they took his driving license. It's a state law, automatic 3 month suspension or something.
He get's told that the BMV will not give a replacement out by the police. Lawyer says that the BMV is so clusterfucked that no one really knows whats going on. So he goes to the BMV.
He got his replacement.
I'll guess I go for it then, If I could get that title fixed it would be amazing.
Cory, Question is this how it is?
The vehicle is in A's name with B's name on the back and C is up shit creek.

physically having the license doesn't mean it's not suspended. I never had mine physically taken when it was suspended about a year ago.
if I was to get pulled over they would have run my license to find that it was suspended and I'd have had to go to jail for 48 hours

get a bonded title, so long as the previous owner hasn't reported it stolen it'll be fine and legal. it'll cost more than $50 but it won't land you in jail for 10 years

I got a flat tire two or three years ago, our last serious snowfall, because someone blew out their chains driving too fast and a link got stuck in my tire. >:(
Don't know if anyone is interested but I'm selling my EVO. http://www.ebay.com/itm/222329245507?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Friend traded in his vehicle and got a BMW 335. Holy smokes it's nice. I've never been in a BMW before and I'm impressed.
Nice seats, great features, 6cyl turbo, 8 speed transmission, and a good amount of power.
Only downside is that it's the rwd version and not the awd.
