jesus monkey christ If your going to rewire something in a vehicle do it properly. I was explaining to my brother over facebook video how to do an injector spray test on a KA24DE when I noticed 3 out of 4 injectors had been bubba'd with electrical tape and speaker wire.......no wonder the damn thing had no power and a misfire
My RV's electrical systems would make you explode, then.
I once drove a plow truck that was controlled by light switches from a house.
My RV's electrical systems would make you explode, then.
Im pretty certain all old campers are that way. I could tell some horror stories of the truck camper's wiring before I rewired it last month.
lol I used to install stereo systems one ol boy came in with a 3k amp wired with what I assume was lamp cord that he ran over the exhaust system.........that was interesting
Took my truck to get the emissions done today. Failed, due to too high of CO emissions (ironic).
Got the 135i onto the lift at my buddy's shop. Surprisingly enough the only extra damage we found that was unexpected was a ground down power steering hose. Might as well give it a full cleanup.
So you're keeping it? Also, please thumb your images.
So you're keeping it? Also, please thumb your images.
That's just how he rolls.
Nope, already got money for it. Got promised the first drive once it's done though :v: It was funny, because the owner of the adjoining bodyshop went and picked it up on the rollback today and HE wanted it, too. And then one of the guys with an office in the building ALSO wanted it, lol. It's a hot car, that's how it goes. I guess the previous owner was super salty today when the car was getting picked up. He was pissed he sold it so cheap. Well no shit.. that's what happens wen you "need money real bad" and beg someone to buy the damn thing instead of listing it on Craigslist for like $4k or something like he totally could've. No clue how to thumb photos. I jut copy/paste from photobucket. They autothumb on my computer on Chrome to a size that's small enough to fit the screen. I'd be willing to consider it if someone explains, haha.
Im pretty certain all old campers are that way. It's all the engine related guff that's sketchier than an Etch-a-sketch.
I've been saying that I was gonna buy a whole box of Honda MTF well technically I bought a box. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/DC%20Pics/2016-12-01%2000.37.28.jpg[/t]
Kinda want a RWD car with leather seats for my next one. I was think a Falcon or Commodore because I want to own at least 1 car made in my own country. But people tell me V6's aren't fuel efficient so my question is how much more fuel does a V6 use over a 4 cylinder?

I'm probably giving you too much credit but I'm picturing your VX looking like this: [t]http://resources.carsguide.com.au/styles/cg_hero_large/s3/dp/albums/album-1324/lg/Holden-VX-Commodore-Acclaim-2000-2.jpg[/t]
Update on that 240d that I forgot to update on: Ended up doing the visit on monday, because my mom self admittingly doesnt know literally anything about cars and she wanted my dad to come with me (18 nearly 19, first car, yes I was paying for all of it) to look at it. The Good: -Owner was a rich hippy who owned the entire apartment block it was at (garages out back which is why we didnt see it on our original drive by). The car had as such been mostly garage kept. Kept for a few months there before he showed us. -Body was just about rust free to my amazement other than the couple of bubbly paint spots seen in the pics. Underbody was rediculously clean. -Engine was clean running, started right on after the glowplugs. Engine bay was free of any significant wear or dirt other than the insulation on a piece of pipe or something was getting a bit dry rotted. -Interior floors (metal under part) and the spare wheel bin thing were hole/rust free. -Transmission was relatively smooth on shifting other than an initial hiccup. -Most of the rubber window liners were still in extremely good condition. -Maintained by a mercedes specific shop. (Had the plate on the back) The Bad (non-critical): -Driver and shotgun seat springs were heavily worn such that it was like sitting on a water bed. -Small liner like cloth surrounded elastic string on the car frame around the doors seperated around half way up and hung down (both sides). -Latch in the front under the hood was slightly broken and the owner had jurry rigged it with a bent screw hook thing so you could release the hood lock. -Dash cracks were slightly worse than pictured (same number of cracks, just that the surface layer was peeled more). -Bad rust on driver's door (inside corner) about two to three inches in diameter.. Wasnt sure how it got there as it wasnt exposed to any outside air or obvious sources of water. (Didnt go all the way through) -Carpet/floor mats (originals) were in need of a washing and the interior in general needed a vacuuming. -Had an entire key ring with mercedes brand keys for everything on it. Like, literally everything. Seperate non interchangable keys for everything from the doors to the trunk to the ignition. -Obama biden bumper sticker on the rubber bumper bit (:v:) And The Ugly (critical): - Had been run on a gas station done mix of vege and diesel for a period of time (not for a long time but not a short one either). - Driver's door did not lock. (The lock bar, little manual unlock pin, etc. Were missing.) - Slower than expected on acceleration. I knew they were slow and didnt think much of it but for my dad this was the no deal part as he was afraid It'd be too dangerous for me when getting on the highway. So the final vedict was much begrudgingly no, with my personal breaker being the door lock and the vege oil and for my dad the acceleration. Sorry for the shit formatting, on mobile atm.
If it was 2,000 or less I would have instantly bought it anyways with as little as wrong. And thats really nothing to even worry about. I dont even think the vegge oil is even a issue as the injection pumps have there own lubricant and stuff.
Cory, Question is this how it is? The vehicle is in A's name with B's name on the back and C is up shit creek.
Yes, that's basically it right there. I'm person C. [editline]1st December 2016[/editline] Also I talked myself out of it. I'm just going to either A) Sell it without a title or B) Part it out.

Sorry for the shit formatting, on mobile atm.
Sounds like all of the lock tumblers failed at different times and weren't replaced with VIN matched cores from the dealer. The car should only have 3 keys (main key, master key, and valet key). For future reference, seat springs are a fairly simple DIY replacement. You're better off for passing on it, go for a 300D, or better yet a 300SD/SDL (the S-Class has better rustproofing and a slightly more modern chassis). Also DP, the veg oil is an issue, in fact I won't even look at a car that has any record of being run on veg oil. The issue is that veg oil usually isn't processed correctly, is thicker than diesel, and has a higher flash point, which can clog the injection pump internal filter, foul injectors, and coke the tops of the pistons and injector tips as the combustion process is less complete than with standard diesel. This means you have to decoke the injectors and glow plugs at each valve adjustment. Also fouled injectors in rare cases can cause a lean mixture condition and burn out a piston (happened to someone I know with a 300SDL).
Interesting I did not know the merc fuel injection was less bulletproof than I imagined.
both my parents have v6 commodores (vx and vz) I believe, and neither of them complain about fuel efficiency.
Sweet, I don't have to feel guilty about getting a VY now.
So I was looking at getting a bonded title and the only question I have is how would I show proof that I own the car? Would I get a bill of sale from the guy I bought if from, or would I get it from the previous registered owner?
So I finally got a FM modulator, but got some questions about wiring it into my car. In online videos they mostly wire it to the fuse box, but my fuse box is quite far away under the hood like this one: So, can I just wire the 12-DC of the Modulator to the 12-DC of Radio? And should I wire it in-front of behind this fuse holder?

You can just tap into the radio's power. However always wire it in before the fuse. So Car - Fuse - Radio The fuse is there to stop the radio from electrocuting the rest. If you put the radio behind the fuse there's nothing stopping the radio from frying the rest of the car. Only downside to having 2 devices on a single fuse is that it's hard to trace back a electrical fault.

Otherwise if lazy, then the former is a good solution since I'm pretty damn sure FM transmitters barely use even 1 Ampere.
Alright, I need my boost back. Does any one know of a good way to test boost leaks? :v: Could I just take a can of ether and spray around the intake pipes while revving it slightly? I can hear it leaking at 0 vac and won't go over 10psi. A little embarissing that my tuned and modded SRT-4 can't keep up with my tuned PT Cruiser.
