Oh I totally missed that.

Man I'm really fucking glad I didn't crash this.
It's not even worth for me to do because my first car was a Kia Optima and my next is my Miata. Never sold a car, so it's like 1/3rd of the list will be repetitive.
Anyway, I might have found a decent prospect for replacing my family heirloom/rustbox Kia Optima. Threw the Optima on a FB sale group for $600 just to see if anyone would take a bite. Any money I can get for it helps, even if it's only 3-400. Maybe if I figure out how to fix the EVAP like my dad did last year to make the CEL go away and pass inspection it would sell a little better.

My friend has a 1999 Volvo s70, I think the FWD version, with the 2.4l i5 (at least according to him). Only has 82k on the clock, and he keeps lowering the price. When he first mentioned it, I guess he wanted close to $4,500, and now he's down to $3,000 without me even asking :v: (maybe...or maybe not a bad sign). Just going by that one picture, I think I can almost assume it's in 4-5x better condition than the Kia. Now I still only have mostly basic details, but he said he acquired it not running, but since then, worked on getting it running again. Obviously I'll find out a lot more once I actually get to look at it.
Only real issue with these models I've dug up so far is the ETM (Electronic Throttle Module) eventually failing from rubbing itself against other parts. Anyone have more insight on this, as well as other issues to watch out for?

I had to check who you quoted cause I could've sworn it'd be Trek.
Ha HA!! I used seafoam on my 94 toyota tercel, worked well! Before hand, the piston tops were pure black with carbon build up. Now, I can actually see numbers and valve grooves in the top of the pistons. Sooooo much better.
Old compression results: (225, 220, 225, 220)
New compression results: (215, 210, 210, 208) -10, -10, -15, -12
Also when I was installing the straw into the throttle body, I found out there was a TON of carbon build up in there as well. Piled up on itself, chunks high. After the fact, more than half of it is gone and it is not chunked up in the remaining spots.
I am happy, and a believer in sea foam and other throttle body induction cleaners. Thanks for the advice guys.
being that close to good new plugs probably would have done the trick but new wires and dizzy never hurts
My plan was just spark plugs and distributor, but the first plug wire I pulled off came apart, so I just decided to avoid that mess in the future.
Well, I think my second cylinder officially hates me. Started my car after it was already warm this evening, had a rough idle, and got a p0202 code.
What say you guys to a Cylinder 2 Injector Circuit Malfunction code?
I'm kind of leaning towards a PCM issue; since two weeks ago I had that weird transmission/dashboard issues with a misc. Tranny code and a limp mode lock; but I honestly don't really know.

If you have a 194 bulb you can fit the prongs into the injectors plug and see if it's firing or firing erratically.
It's one of these:
[t]http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/wcsstore/CVWEB/staticproductimage//1026/large/5081874_syl_194LL_pri_larg.jpg[/t]
Harbor freight has kits of actual test lights for this kinda thing:
[t]https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1l_RSKFXXXXaMXpXXq6xXFXXXz/6pcs-Injector-Noid-font-b-Light-b-font-font-b-Test-b-font-Kit.jpg[/t]
There're called Noid Lights and are handy as fuck for diagnosing injector firing issues.
Also for the sake of argument, compression test the cylinder and do a leak down test to see if there is a mechanical issue like a valve not seating or rings going, that way you have a better plan to go about fixing the problem.
It better not be another valve/ring problem. I just had that cylinder rebuilt for a burnt intake valve 35k miles ago.
But I really appreciate the recommendation. Thank you.
I always check for the 'click click' of the injector firing with a stethoscope / or screwdriver held up to my ear. Check Cyl 2 vs a good one.
If it's not click clicking, ohm it vs one of the good ones, obviously resistance should match.
The noid light / 194 bulb test will tell you if there's a complete circuit firing the injector. If the light doesn't flash, check for 12v on one wire with ignition on. It's usually a wire that all 4 injectors share, color-wise.
Then the other color wire will pulse ground, which can be hard to see on a meter. Check continuity of the wire between the injector harness and PCM.
If all those tests result in the OK, and you verify spark/ compression, then you can assume bad PCM.. of course verify all 12v / ground connections at the PCM, too.
Out of curiosity, the "Injector 2 circuit malfunction" code was there from the start, yes? That would also get throw from unplugging injectors to narrow down what cyl was misfiring. :v:

Never disconnected to do anything and never ran diagnostics beyond the code pull using the key method. So yes, it did it immediately after the rough idle when restarting the engine while running errands this evening.

Stabilitrak causes that to happen on that body style of Chevy truck/SUV. There's a known issue with it that chevy has yet to address.

I know how it is diagnosing injector problems, you always want to exhaust ALL other options/problems before settling on PCM or mechanical problems. A wire or injector or stupid fucking ground is always easier to repair and nearly always less costly.
1994 Toyota Tercel - 3EE 4 cylinder EFI Motor
Say I wanted to put a $400 nos kit into it. Fuel + N2O wet system.
How do I remove risk of vehicle damage?
What gauges/sensors should I install?
Is there some kind of guide to tell me how much extra pressure and force my little 4 cylinder can handle without tearing itself apart?
Wait.. what?
Take that $400 and do something more useful with it, like throwing it into the wind.
Pay to play.
Ghettofeed it via your passenger opening the bottle and pointing it into the intake.
You finally figured out a way to remove em? :v:
No, The photo will be how it will look. I might as well just cut them off using a death wheel.
I must underline how it "will look" because it was a 5ft vehicle turned into a 20ft vehicle will now be a "no longer photos can be taken of it" vehicle..... I like trees. Trees like me. Trees dent and break things.
The drift team has officially stopped. We all agreed to stop now, because it's growing too fast and none of us kan keep up with the pace, having jobs and families and what not. So we decided to pull the plug.
I made a little collab video from all the stuff we've done through the years. Makes me a bit sad, but all good things has to come to an end.
The Jocks business is still going (stronger than ever), it's just the drifting that has ended.

don't bother with nos in a street car. it'll just make you wish you had a real power adder

at $400 it would probably be a dry kit anyway which is a guaranteed melted piston if you don't get an ecu that can handle dry shots of nitrous
