Everyone is trying to get in on this cold weather temp competition, but I'm just waiting for some kind of snow still. Supposed to get 3-5" saturday, but that shit is never right. Somehow Illinois and ND have more snow than we do, I swear.
I'm in Florida, I don't see snow unless it's on the news or in a movie or something. I saw it once when I was REALLY young, like 88 or 89. just for like 20 mins it was cold enough but still too warm for it to build up. 27 or 28 years since that happened. But I dont have winter clothes, so yay for lack of coldness. 18C/65F~ as of now. Aaaaaand I need to tear my engine apart and forcably clean the lash adjusters because they are sticking really bad now, cold weather seems to do that to them. And on my trip to Gainesville yesterday there and back, about the halfway mark (3 1/2 hour drive) it started randomly ticking at anything sustained above 2100 RPMs. It has me worried. Into the fray I go...
-22 and my 12 valve is determined to sleep it off. Guess I'll get something more practical, recommendations for a winter beater? Something reliable, but also fun.
Crown victoria
Woke up at 10:30 and the weather underground app on my phone said it was snowing, supposed to continue snowing till 8pm. I looked out my window and didn't see a fucking thing. Turns out the flakes are too small to see unless you're outside. It's now a quarter after noon and you can see the flakes through a window. Pavement is still dry. Lmao

Update:its snowing hard as fuck now
It snowed yesterday for me. Now it's all sunny. They didn't put any salt down yesterday, so they decided to dump a metric fuck ton on the roads today for some reason. The highway and parking lots are white from salt.
I think my area is supposed to get a foot of snow Sunday night. Looks like i'd better borrow my friend's welder and make a mount for a plow on the Snapper or something :v: In other news, the MR2's old engine with bottom end knock is out!!: [t]http://i.imgur.com/UpmKdd5.jpg[/t] [editline]8th December 2016[/editline] Hey guys, what should I do with the old motor?
coffee table
put it in a go kart and run it till it blows
be responsible and fix it so you have a backup
be responsible and fix it so you have a backup
That is the most boring thing ever when cores could be had for ~400$
Makes me miss Syracuse. Regularly would get -10 with -25 degree windchills there (and this is Fahrenheit, cause 'merica) Now it gets to like, 31 and the world shuts down here in Arkansas.
This shit's just now hitting Virginia slowly, and it dropped from 50° like it has been all week to 35° in less than an hour. I went from sweating my balls off underneath a house in a crawlspace to shivering in nothing.7 seconds flat.

May put on some stainless braided lines too
And the freezing rain has started. :\ [editline]8th December 2016[/editline] Hopefully it thaws by the time I get off work
Pic dump, shit I did to my car today... Who's got the SRT4 here? Has snow hit the ground yet? I may look at one on saturday for a fun winter beater
And the freezing rain has started. :\ [editline]8th December 2016[/editline] Hopefully it thaws by the time I get off work
Freezing rain advisory until 7am Rip [editline]8th December 2016[/editline] Will chains help with ice? There's only two maybe three inches of snow, but it's got a layer of ice on top of it.
Chains will help a bit, but not as much as if it were just snow.
Better than just all season tires, right? :v: I'm almost done at work so I'll go out and look at my car and the roads. [editline]9th December 2016[/editline] Its gross but it doesn't look icy on the main roads [editline]9th December 2016[/editline] Before defrost [T]http://i.imgur.com/VFApLu5.jpg[/t] After [T]http://i.imgur.com/h7d4OXH.jpg[/t]

I was outside in my slippers and shorts for like 30-40 mins, but we didn't get the snow down south. Tried swapping the relay with a heater fan relay from my Integra and nothing happened still. I just remembered after trying to find a circuit diagram somewhere online that I have 88-91 Civic service manuals downloaded somewhere. Boy are they absolutely fucking glorious, they have everything from the entire early "ALB"(ABS) system that was never offered on a USDM model Civic to every single spec you could ever imagine in your wildest dreams of a service manual. Hell it's got all of the frame straightening dimensions according to the factory. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5601782/EF%20Pics/efdefogger.PNG[/t] Of course, I didn't read the table of contents and found out the hard way that the only thing closer to the end of the manual past the rear defogger section is the UK/Euro headlight adjustment circuit diagrams and a index page of wiring diagrams.
There are two wires on my back window that don't heat up, right in the fucking middle. :v: Did you get any snowmageddon down south? Or did it miss you?
There are two wires on my back window that don't heat up, right in the fucking middle. :v: Did you get any snowmageddon down south? Or did it miss you?
You can just fix the breaks in the lines with some conductive paint stuff, there's a permatex kit that makes it super simple. Nah, apparently it's dumping all over up the mountains like out Santiam Pass but there hasn't been a single flurry this way. Plenty of rain, cold and ice though. Found something on craigslist out in Prineville, it would probably take like 4-5 hours to get out there. Can't imagine it would be worse than the 12 year old studded tires I tried out on the car once going out that way.
I swear I have the worst luck with batteries. My boat has now 2 batteries that will sit with the chargers on and will make the charger flick on and off like if the batteries have a dead cell... So fucking annoying watching these god damn group 29 deep cycle's die and be within the 3-year warranty. I think if these die yet again I will slowly transition to Trojan batteries instead. (Going on my 4th swap) Not to mention the stupid "Value Power" Battery on the suburban is deciding it wants to drain down, I don't unhook it and nor do I know if the burban has a parasitic draw or not... Never had an issue starting over 2 weeks in the summer. Why can't good batteries be affordable anymore? I guess the Mexico optima's and odysseys are the only things halfway decent. The only "good" parts store battery I've had was an AGM from Oriellys for my Audi that handled fine right up to the point I ran it dead and AGM's don't like even running close to dead.
Who's got the SRT4 here? Has snow hit the ground yet? I may look at one on saturday for a fun winter beater
I do. It snowed a few days ago. Wasn't enough to stick though. My car has summer drag radials on it, so just the cold ground is making it spin. [t]http://i.imgur.com/vZsRDy5.jpg[/t]
