I am on vacation here in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, and I felt a fairly strong shake.
Dogwalker also called, says my house is a mess, some stuff fell off the shelves, a bookshelf fell over, my 2 dogs are ok though *sigh of relief*
[house is in D.C. btw]
This is all Obama's fault.
Is everybody in the affected zones okay? There's sirens and helicopters all over the place, but considering I live in New York, it's probably just the start of the riots.
Heard rattling noises around the house, thought it was just me being clumsy and knocking into stuff. My first earthquake!! How lame :[ (far western MD here)
Also cell service is limited in the DC area to emergency calls only
Honestly thought it was a ghost when it happened :tinfoil:
Long Island was shaking for like 10 seconds.

Same thing here. I can't get calls out to anybody, I'm just using my phone to make Skype VOIP calls.
I'm in six flags great adventure now and didn't feel shit, but all the rides are now closed. What a load of shit.
You should move to California, that's like a walk in the park for us.

We had another in Maryland actually, it was just like a 3 or 2 point something, and at 3 in the morning.
So for us, I guess it was only the first we were conscious for.
Also, I think texting still works fine; try that instead.
Ahaha.
Everyone on the east coast is freaking out over a little earthquake.
Unless you were near the epicenter (say 30 miles) its not much to freak out over.
I've lived in California most of my life earthquakes are no big deal.

I was asleep for that one
I was actually half hoping for another earthquake here in my lifetime, I was shocked when it happened again so soon.
I felt nothing in NC, probably cause I was in a car at the time I guess. oh well.
California is probably saying "lol noobs" right about now.

Wouldn't you have felt it too? Kentucky is fairly close to Virginia...
-Snip-
Live about 80 miles from the epicenter, first time being in an earthquake. Didn't really realize something was happening until it was half over.
Nothing to be felt in Wisconsin. Darn.
good thing im in minnesota
all we get is tornados
All my friends on the east coast said they felt it.
and this one girl I know who lives in Canada said her whole house was shaking. Probably not from the same quake but maybe a reaction earthquake? forgot what they are called.

Tornadoes are way more destructive than most US earthquakes IMO.

I didn't feel anything, and I'm on Long Island.
