Picked up some mess today at the flea market/ Half Price Books.
[img_thumb]http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx146/Pascalll/DSCF3476.jpg[/img_thumb]
Paul's "McCartney" vinyl which I found for ten bucks. Pretty good condition. The guy had a couple of other vinyls but none were in the right sleeve. Two original MMT's and a Rubber Soul, but none had their sleeves and I would rather invest in a vinyl that has everything.
Also got the book "The Beatles: Unseen Archive". Fabulous book full of photographs that aren't anywhere else.
And the HUGE sign was a gift from a friend of the family. He bought it a few weeks back and had nowhere to put it so, of course, it was suggested that he give it to me. Haven't put it up yet, trying to find a spot, but it's pretty rad.
Slim pickins today, but it was fun.
Oh and those anthology DVDs, I borrowed from the library. They're overdue. :v:
Oh God Pascall.
That's the book that I have and Loco bought and they both had different titles and covers. But they were from the same publisher.
Yours is different from both of ours but with the same title as mine. :v:

You have the paperback or hard cover?
You have the paperback or hard cover?
Hard cover.
By the looks of hers she has a hardcover too.

Yeah it is. What does loco have?
If you want book suggestions, take a look at some of the ones I have:

In His Own Write/A Spaniard in the Works:
These are the two that Lennon wrote himself including some of his own illustrations. Best way to go about these is to not try and understand them. They're fantastic and whimsical poems and drawings that are better read with the mind of a child than the mind of an adult. Trying to dissect meaning out of them will probably ruin the book for you.
Life in Pictures: John Lennon
Just what the title describes. Has photos that range from Lennon's time with the Beatles to his time after the Beatles, each with a little backstory and information. Great for "exclusive" pictures.
Life in Pictures: The Beatles
Same thing as above, only with the band as a whole.
The Beatles: Revealed
Another amazing book filled with photographs that you won't find anywhere else including biographical information and lots of other good stuff.
The Beatles: Anthology
If there's ONE book that is a must for any hardcore Beatles fan, it's this one. The Anthology is basically the Beatles bible with all kinds of history, interviews, stories, and tons of pictures. All contributed by the Beatles themselves. If you could only ever buy ONE BOOK about the Beatles, buy this one.
I Met the Walrus
This book is written by Jerry Levitan who, as a fourteen year old, managed to weasel his way into the bed-in peace protest in '69 and got an exclusive 40 minute interview with Lennon himself. The book has notes from Lennon and Yoko, drawings, and comes with a DVD of the interview. I haven't made my way through this one yet, but while skimming it, the little notes and doodles themselves are worth it.
Hope that helps a bit. There are still a TON of other books out there on the Beatles. I recommend you go out and have a look for yourself.
How much do you owe in over due fees?
Pascall, you are a Beatle mentalist. :v:
Has anyone listened to Driving Rain album yet?

Only thing is, I have VERY little knowledge of their solo careers. So I need to get more into that.

Oh, I'm gonna take an updated picture of my vinyls in a sec. I have ten in all. Plus my mugs and my Tony Sheridan CD.
I gave my spare copy of The Blue Album(1967–1970) to my girlfriend for Valentine's day, she liked it alot.
When I'm done moving I will post everything Beatles related I can find in my house.
Here is a teaser.

Vinyls from left to right:
The Beatles:
Help!, Revolver, Meet the Beatles
Sleeveless Hard Day's Night
Paul McCartney:
Band on the Run, Tug of War
McCartney
George Harrison:
Thirty Three & 1/3, George Harrison
Ringo Starr:
Goodnight Vienna
Sadly, I don't have any Lennon vinyls yet. Been on the search for 'em. Found three copies of Double Fantasy today, but I had to choose between that or McCartney and I went with McCartney instead.

My four mugs I picked up at FYE all for $10 total. Sales are amazing.
"The Early Tapes of The Beatles: Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers" CD which features the songs when they played with Sheridan in Hamburg iirc.
And my Magical Mystery Tour Bus.
Mmyep.
Fancy.
How you have no Lennon records is beyond me... :psyduck:
They're extremely hard to find down here. The fact that I found THREE copies of Double Fantasy at the flea market is a miracle in and of itself.
I've never seen a Lennon album at any of the HPB I've visited either.
Mind Games, Rock and Roll, Plastic Ono Band AND Imagine
AND Double Fantasy in my store. :v:
Quite pricey though.

There's copies of Double Fantasy everywhere because it sold like hotcakes after Lennon died

I am neither, I am Here, There and Everywhere.
I'm residing in Missouri, in my Octopus Garden.
Hey Pacall, have you read the book Paul is Undead: The British Zombie Invasion? It's a book that includes small nuggets of Beatles history and trivia all twisted into fuckville if the Beatles were all zombies. (AND RINGO WAS A FUCKIN' NINJA) it's a hilariously clever book that I loved to death.

ahh no. I've had it suggested to me before though. I'll probably look into it.
