Anyone here listened to "Let It Be...Naked"? I've been looking for a damn copy everywhere. I don't really understand the differences between it and the regular Let It Be. Is it like the Double Fantasy: Stripped Down version of Double Fantasy?
-Also, I was off at an FYE that's closing down, and I might convince my father to take me back, they had the very best of Ringo there for pretty cheap, and I didn't check to see if they had any George or Paul stuff. (I've got all of John's.) If I decide to go back before it closes, should I pick up the very best of Ringo? Oh, and if they have any Paul or George stuff, what should I get? I've got All Things Must Pass, I've got Band on The Run remastered, and Wings Greatest Hits....Oh! And Good Evening New York City! (best live album, ever.)
Let It Be....Naked is Let It Be without everything added by Phil Spector.
You either love it or hate it. I love it.
Also yes, buy everything Ringo ever.

It is Paul Mccartney's version of Let It Be.
I prefer the original but the new album is very worth listening to. Fantastic versions of them.
But the edge that the original has is it's playful production techniques and humour.
It all goes in the Naked version.

Also Let It Be was meant to be a soundtrack to the movie.
Let It Be Naked is just a spin off.

"I Dig a Pygmy by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf Aids, Phase One in which Doris gets her oats."
Only bad track on LIB Naked is Don't Let Me Down.
Biggest difference is The Long and Winding Road
Original

I always though he was talking about Dig A Pony
I never got that joke.
I Dig a Pygmy = I Dig a Pony.
Charles Hawtry was an actor iirc.
"Deaf Aids" is a British Term for Hearing Aids, it was John's nickname for the Amps.
"Doris gets her oats." = "Doris does the horizontal mambo."
I never got that joke.
It isn't supposed to mean anything at all. That is English humour for you, can be confusing :v: ([sp]which is why it's funny[/sp])

I wish I could find the clip, but on For You Blue which I learned somewhile back was originally called "Georgie's Blues," has John playing slide with a shotgun shell on his fingers. It's hilarious, he's playing slide with the shell and Yoko is sitting next to him, stoic as ever with George doing that smirk of his...
The clip is in the Let It Be movie, which I painstakingly looked for and finally found it right here: http://www.megavideo.com/?v=NL8PK8C1 I hardly see why they wouldn't release the movie, I know George said it was a dark time in his life, and Rings and Paul want to honor that, but they really didn't fight all that much in the clips. There was maybe one scene where they were doing some Paul song, Get Back perhaps? And George sort've loses it. "I can play however you like, I can play like you want if it'll please you, or I can't play at all if it'll make you happy!" All the while Paul and George and John are just playing short riffs on their guitars while this is going on.

Let It Be was released, in theaters and on VHS. It's just never been put on DVD.
I need to find a VHS of that then.
I wonder if they have it at HPB. They have a huge collection of VHS there.
Let It Be was released, in theaters and on VHS. It's just never been put on DVD.
Err...Well yeah. That's sort've what I meant, it was originally released in Theaters and it didn't go so well so it disappeared into the abyss of movies, and the VHS didn't go over so well either, so I suppose that might contribute to it. If no one's seen Yellow Submarine too, I've got a link for that as well. I also heard that in the U.S. theater release of Yellow Submarine, for some reason the scene where Hey Bulldog plays isn't there. It's literally just gone from the movie.

Does that DVD have like, clips in between songs, where the Beatles are talking amongst themselves or something similiar to that extent? Let It Be (the original) had songs on it, but it mostly showed the life of the Beatles in studio.

that looks pretty legit though
ill get a picture for you guys tomorrow :v:

i dunno, waiting for my friends to come home from college so we can all watch it

I know, but not official. Tonnes of those around.
Ah damn. If it's just music, then it isn't the original Let It Be, if it's more than music and is a "documentary" it's Let It Be.
Speaking of DVDs
