And that townsend didn't play with any soul at all, all his musics lifeless.
racid had a pretty good taste in music and made things interesting around here i misses him
He did not have a good taste in music!
He was a musical retard, trust me he was the most useless human being I've ever had the misfortune to have a discussion with. Which always boiled down to him saying he's right
I think it's pretty silly to bash someone else's musical taste. People enjoy different kinds of music, just because they enjoy something you don't find enjoyable doesn't mean they have no taste and such.
You clearly didn't see some of the arguments we had with this guy [editline]04:34PM[/editline] Or his replies
I can't stand TDWP, they give *core a worse name than it already has. And everybody, literally Everyone in the class of 2011 here is obsessed with them. They're a scene band with uninventive songs and lyrics
Barely anyone in my area has even heard of them, even fewer actually like them. I think they're just one of those hit-or-miss sort of bands. You either really like them or you think they are terrible. I like the lyrics, but I don't listen to them for the lyrics. The main reason why I like them is because I have weird habits when it comes to music. If I come across a cool guitar riff or breakdown in a song by anyone else, I'll continuously rewind and just listen to that one part. However, with TDWP, their songs are made up of those simple yet cool sounding riffs and intense breakdowns, their songs are the only ones I can listen to all the way through without skipping around to different parts.
he wasn't that bad you all just really let him get to you [editline]09:40PM[/editline] (referring to racid)
Racid was an eternal fuckin moron, and nothing anyone says with change my opinion.
I liked Racid. He may have been an asshole sometimes but he knew his genres.
I liked Racid. He may have been an asshole sometimes but he knew his genres.
i'm an ass hole all the time oh wait i'm not racid lololoololol i know my genres though
Yeah we bros
wat
I honestly didn't know this was a christian band till this thread. The only people I know who listen to it are Atheist. But these songs are shit, really.
I've decided I like them.
^nice welcome to the club
I honestly didn't know this was a christian band till this thread. The only people I know who listen to it are Atheist. But these songs are shit, really.
Ironic and sad
I listen to a lot of Christian bands, and I'm Atheistic. It's not a matter of the lyrics that bug me, hell, I'll scream along if I know them. On a more related note though, I can't really stand TDWP. Still Fly was an alright cover, but then it got ran in the ground by everyone and their mother. In the Christian metalcore category, I prefer August Burns Red. They're musicality is truly outstanding. For Today is okay... but their lyrics sort of bug me sometimes... just because they're totally overkill.
Bump. Does anyone know what key these guys mostly write in? A number of their songs, mostly cross-album use the same notes.
not sure what key they play in, but I know they sure do a lot of palm muted open drop D
quite the innovators huh?
Bump. Does anyone know what key these guys mostly write in? A number of their songs, mostly cross-album use the same notes.
D minor. I think.
quite the innovators huh?
well, writing songs in certain keys(mostly minor), sound fucking wierd in metal.
pretty much all metal songs are written in a minor...
Stumbled across the band's first EP today, which has early versions of some songs of their first album. One song with notable differences "Who Speaks Spanish Colon Quesadilla" Patterns of the Horizon Version(EP) Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord Version The band has really evolved in 5 years. Mike used to do almost all lows, now he's at lows and highs. [editline]09:10PM[/editline]
pretty much all metal songs are written in a minor...
No shit. But some keys Eb minor for example, make it harder then writing riffs in an easier minor key, being you only have 1 natural note. [editline]09:11PM[/editline] Bonus Content: TDWP's joke song that makes fun of Grindcore. Glad this song isn't serious.
are you kidding. Every Evile song ever written is in Eb minor other than Infected Nation. It's easy. maybe it's hard if you're trying to write a pop song [editline]03:53PM[/editline] It's the best key in general for metal IMO. [editline]03:55PM[/editline] also "funny song name it's a joke about grindcore so we'll combine that with a pop culture reference everyone knows and it'll be great"
How is writing in Eb minor different than writing in any other minor key?
yeah, how does having "natural notes" make writing any easier. Unless you've never played outside of C major it shouldn't be a problem. again, unless you're trying to write a pop song there shouldn't be a problem.
Their T-shirts are ridiculous. In fact, TDWP as a band is one of the most ridiculous bands I've ever seen. From the stupid song names to their lyrics and the whole thing where they can't shut the fuck up about being Christian for 2 minutes, not to mention the overall mediocrity of their music and the fact that the vocalist uses Autotune, I can honestly see more reasons to dislike them than to enjoy their music. Just another shitty metalcore band, but now with Christian undertones. They're the Brokencyde of metal, really.
You're right, because their christians they are stupid and have no talent. Where's your band?
