Wait... The protestors didn't try to rob the state capital and steal his beds? And his money so he wont buy a new bed?
lol wisconsin
lol wisconsin
You got a problem with that?
Move to the state next to it: Minnesota. Minnesotas new governor is like the exact opposite, as in he plans to lower tuition whilst putting more money into education and education development.
But its freezing there you know.
I live in South Dakota. Don't act like I don't know freezing. :colbert: [editline]17th February 2011[/editline] You rated yourself winner?
Wow. I would never imagine serious shit going down in Wisconsin of all places. Last time I was there eveyone was really laid back. It's been a little crazy on campus in Madison the past couple days for sure.
Hey At least you don't live in Illinois :v:
One superbowl and they think they can do whatever they want
Great, Egypt ejects an actual tyrant, so everyone just starts protesting against people they don't like.
Great, Egypt ejects an actual tyrant, so everyone just starts protesting against people they don't like.
Because Americans have never protested before.
Because Americans have never protested before.
It's pretty obvious this was influenced by the Egyptian revolution
It's pretty obvious this was influenced by the Egyptian revolution
You're obviously being an idiot and didn't read the thread, so I'll sum it up. Governor attached a bill to the back of another and it got passed: • it lowers the pay for teachers and other educational workers • it increases their health care costs this will cost a very large amount of people more to continue living the same way they were before and it's for no good reason. also "this was influenced by the egyptian revolution" reminds me of the kind of logic ten year olds have when they say every FPS is a ripoff of Halo.
All 14 democratic senators have left state and went into hiding.
I went. Here's some pictures of todays rally:
The "TEABAGGING IS FOR NUTS" sign, I thought, was quite tasteful.
You have my blessing and unrelenting support. الثورَة على الظُلْمْ حقُّ مَكْفول لكلّ الشعوب. :hist101:
OP's ignorance, my eyes...:byodood: Do you have any idea what teachers were getting paid? It was ridiculous! Edit: Not to say of approve of Walker, oh no. Not even close. He was just the lesser of two evils during election time.
That worthless piece of shit Wisconsin barely calls our governor
Maybe he's upset about that and that's why he's pushing these ridiculous bills. Call him more. [editline]17th February 2011[/editline]
OP's ignorance, my eyes...:byodood: Do you have any idea what teachers were getting paid? It was ridiculous!
Educators should be well paid.
Educators should be well paid.
Not to the point they were. It was insane! Whenever the Union would negotiate, and the government was involved, they would always get the exact appeasements they wanted. Always. [editline]February[/editline] Maybe, however small a possibility, it was only my isolated district that was getting horrendously overpaid? Our school doesn't like to tell us about things that go on in the world if it makes them look bad.
Good luck. I hope you can get that bill changed, if I were there I'd be on the street protesting.

Not even close. He was just the lesser of two evils during election time.
they really weren't, teachers have always been woefully underpaid, especially considering they have months at a time where they aren't teaching in school. I just looked up the average salary of a teacher in Wisconsin and translated it into GBP, it seems a painfully average amount for someone performing such an important job to earn.
All of the legislatures democrats have walked out of the state, postponing the bill from being voted. So probably no school tommorow again. [editline]17th February 2011[/editline] Forgot to upload this one:
Pull some Egyptian style shit. Get the banks shut down. Get out in the streets and get your friends out in the streets too. Stop traffic. Cause trouble but don't do anything illegal. Americans haven't done any real protesting and shutting down business in a long time. It is time we learned from what happened in Egypt and start fucking DOING SOMETHING instead of just letting politicians fuck us in the ass. [editline]17th February 2011[/editline]
OP's ignorance, my eyes...:byodood: Do you have any idea what teachers were getting paid? It was ridiculous!
Starting Salary: $25,222 Average Salary: $46,390 Starting salary of $25k is fucking pathetic. Garbage men make almost twice that to start.
Stop complaining, South Dakota has the lowest average teacher salary in the country, they just got a 10% cut, and my school's teachers get paid less than that. Seriously, I don't understand the huge deal.

The purges in Russia were terrible but that doesn't mean Italy wasn't bad off under Mussolini.

Fucking with education should only be a last resort after you have exhausted everything else.
