I agree with him! Clearly people who are paid so little already and provide such a valuable public service as educators deserve less pay!
Teachers already get payed way less than they deserve. What an asshole :911:
Hardly, it just shows his immaturity and ignorance. --------- Walker is just taking back what the old teachers union bitch(Doyle) did.
so he's taking away the already poor wage that the teachers earned? I hardly see how that's a good thing.
Just out of curiosity, on average, what were teachers there making a year?

Do those salaries in include the 12,000-25,000 in benefits? That every other worker has to pay a percentage of?
just because you have it bad, it doesn't mean this isn't. The purges in Russia were terrible but that doesn't mean Italy wasn't bad off under Mussolini.
What I'm saying is that we're taking a heavy hit, but we're rolling with it. And they're all like "No, fuck off, this is our money, you can't take away what you're giving us." Personally, I don't think the government should be involved with education anyways. You wouldn't have problems like this.
I personally led a protest 4 miles to the courthouse from Tremper High School in kenosha, wisconsin. Search us at walking on wisconsin on facebook. It felt great.

It's well within your rights to, and well within the rights of any teachers to protest against cuts like this, at the end of the day the students are going to suffer from cuts in the education sector, especially when they are so unnecessary compared to other cuts.
And that site is off, go to the real site to show averages: http://dpi.state.wi.us/lbstat/newasr.html 2010: The average salary is : $77,857.02 The avarge fringe is : $29,705.53

I can go into a tonne of jobs with only GCE level education and be payed better than teachers, who have gone through university, and put up with little shits who don't even want to learn, all while living in some hovel hoping on a raise. Kids at my old school are verbally and physically abusive to teachers, and the teachers can't really do shit other than exclude the student in question. However, discussing it in the senate and house might get things situated the way they should be. So we're doing it the right way. And look at those numbers. 77K? Holy balls, that's a lot.
that seems a fair amount really
That includes the highly paid administrators (100k-200k) and the underpaid (15k-20k) It's all about the location really, mps gets paid shit, where green bay administrators get paid 200k.
Holy hell, I used to live in Wisconsin, but that was at least 5 years ago, back when Jim Doyle was governor. I remember having some pretty great teachers in middle school. :smith:
"Oh, hey. Remember all those studies that show higher education standards and higher payed teachers lead to a more prosperous nation and a reliable, happy workforce?" "Yeah, why?" "Fuck the studies."
This is the kind of shit the Tea Party gets crap for.
Gotta admit, the DICK (-tater) thing made me giggle. Not that it helps the cause, of course.
This is the kind of shit the Tea Party gets crap for.
however the tea party's signs aren't clever or make any point in the slightest 99% of the time.
Attend the riots, its *maybe* a once in a lifetime chance. He shouldn't have done anything like this. Education workers are really important to the future of the nation. What a dumb ass.
Fun Fact! There are 2 million more people in New York City than the entire state of Wisconsin
Can you guys send some of that bravery down our way? Teachers are treated like SHIT in Arizona, my father being one of them :I
My conservative mom is a teacher here in Wisconsin, and she just listens to the unions complain. Doesn't really have any problems, and neither do I.
Wrong thread lolololololo
News reported over 25k showed up to protest today
Wish something like this would happen in Florida. Rick Scott our new governor is cutting about a billion or so in education funding.
Similar shit is happening here in Idaho too. Only everybody's too big of a pussy to do anything about it. The teachers are so lazy and apathetic now.
Oh hey, I'm right next to Wisconsin. Why the hell haven't I heard about this yet? Facepunch has gave me the news once again! At this rate, I don't even need to pay for satellite.
