Playing devil's advocate here but,
Walker is saying what people don't want to hear: this state is broke.
Maybe if we spent that sales tax increase on something productive instead of building a new stadium things wouldn't be as bad. Too late for that now, though.

Everyone knows the state is broke but he's trying to fix it in a very bad way.
I don't get why this country has such a big hard-on for lowering taxes. It's no wonder America is losing its super-power status. You can't reap the benefits of a 1st world country without paying for them.
It cos taxes'r communism n un'murcan.
My suggestion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recall_election
if it was going to save them money and lower taxes..
do you honestly think they would be marching with hitler signs into his fucking office?
Yes because people who dont have a clue about politics tend to make ridiculous comparisons. Which worrys me considering there are alot of teachers at that rally.
Seems stupid to me. Teachers are over paid IMO.
The government gives them such cushy benefits and they don't have anywhere near the workload of other careers. I do mechanic work that I enjoy immensely, but it's a lot harder than standing infront of some snots spouting facts for them to write down, AND I don't get the benefits they do.
Maybe if those selfish teachers would think about the private sector and be willing to cooperate to negotiate a modest change things wouldn't be so ridiculous. I mean the state's broke, gotta make cuts somehow. Without the slight cuts they would risk layoffs anyways!
Do we need to cut other things aswell? Absolutely. But is it legit to lower state-funded workers pay? Absolutely as long as it's not drastic.
Maybe we should take some of that money to fix the roads around here. Central WI has some crappy roads for sure.

Are people just going to continue ignoring the majority of normal teachers and the retardedly low income they have in favor of what expensive high-end college professors and administrators are getting?
My teachers are wimps and won't protest cause they're afraid they'll get in trouble
seems like bad timing considering Green Bay just won the super bowl
Someone today had this on their Facebook trying to tell me whats going on there...

Governor is wantin to cut out of the budget, alot of money.. hes republican, taking on the teachers unions over collective bargaining on the fact that the unions control teachers pay, salary's, awesome benefits, all tax paid by the way, and not to mention the retirement pensions.. so the teachers are crying and sobbing over this, skipping school, to go call the governor Hitler, and attack FOX news anchor, local police have riot teams on scene.. so to sum it up, teachers are horrifically mad, that they may have to buy NORMAL health insruacne, NORMAL 401K plans, NORMAL pay, instead of tax fed pay.. and the government wants to be able to decide how much the teachers get, without having to worry about a union shutting down every school in the state, which is currently in the process of happening.. now, i don't know about you guys, but the governor is on the right track.. he's cutting 300 MILLION dollars, in the first FISCAL year alone, the second the coward democrats (yes, they're retarded for running from the state) come back and vote... Do i know the entire story?

And to think I voted for him.
I'm very disappointed in myself.

Do you have a huge pile of engines on your desk that you have to fix when you get home?

It evens out when you realize how fucking much free time and holidays you get when you work in the educational system.
I had a job in that sector for a while, and it's pretty much like being a student, except you don't have to do tests or exams.
Riot time!
