Oh noes, how will Spotify survive without your support consisting of nothing!?
They wont.
lmao who the fuck uses streaming music services? just use private trackers, seriously. flac master race supremacy. (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - SteveUK))
Why though?
What the fuck? I can listen to a song five times and then I can't listen to it ever again? Bogus. And just a few days ago I thought that Spotify is the best thing ever. Good things come and go I suppose. Been a free member for years upon years. You'd think they would at least let us who have been there from the start to keep our free accounts.
They're merely changing Open/Free into a trial. The whole point is to earn more money for whatever reason. I'm getting Unlimited, I love Spotify.
lmao who the fuck uses streaming music services? just use private trackers, seriously. flac master race supremacy.
Spotify actually has a lot of music that can't be found to download, or will require a fuckton of searching to find a download for. And it is not illegal.
Spotify actually has a lot of music that can't be found to download, or will require a fuckton of searching to find a download for.
i hope you're joking, because some private trackers have the most comprehensive collection of music that even rivals itunes. stop searching on tbp.
Aw well, my free music was nice while it lasted. For two years I used spotify.
No longer.
how about spotify gets north american support
The end of an era. Oh well, off to grooveshark/we7.
am i seriously the only one that's going to show my appreciation towards spotify and not chicken out when they require a 5€ fee per month?
Uninstalling spotify. redownloading bittorrent.
am i seriously the only one that's going to show my appreciation towards spotify and not chicken out when they require a 5€ fee per month?
Apparently.. I've been using Spotify Unlimited just after Spotify became available in my country. I love it, and I see no reason to back off now either. Besides, didn't they say the first 6 months were "normal"? [editline]15th April 2011[/editline]
New Spotify users will be able to enjoy our unrivalled free service as it is today for the first 6 months.

am i seriously the only one that's going to show my appreciation towards spotify and not chicken out when they require a 5€ fee per month?
Already had premium for about 5 months actually, but that was only because i wanted to use it on my iphone, which i find to be a fair enough actually.
Already had premium for about 5 months actually, but that was only because i wanted to use it on my iphone, which i find to be a fair enough actually.
How's your data usage going?
How's your data usage going?
Many phones have Wifi these days. With premium, you could always make a playlist "offline" to your phone.
Many phones have Wifi these days. With premium, you could always make a playlist "offline" to your phone.
I see. I have not tried Premium before but I thought that feature was not for mobile devices. Interesting...
How's your data usage going?
I live in sweden, we don't have to worry about such things. [editline]16th April 2011[/editline]
I see. I have not tried Premium before but I thought that feature was not for mobile devices. Interesting...
The feature was basically made for mobile devices.
I have never subscribed for Spotify, and I'm not going to start now. There are plenty of alternatives; last.fm, Grooveshark, hell, Youtube with playlists works. I think Spotify is going to lose many of the people who didn't pay, but then, to Spotify, those people don't matter. It's been interesting watching them turn from a small company that actually cared for its users into a large, money grabbing business similar to so many others.
I wouldn't call it money-grabbing to attempt to stop making a loss of $25 million every year In the end, the business model isn't profitable, it was never going to last and I realised this a year or two ago
http://store.grooveshark.com/products/72750-japan-relief-year-gsa all the proceeds go to japan, also grooveshark VIP for an entire year for 20 dollars.
They're merely changing Open/Free into a trial. The whole point is to earn more money for whatever reason. I'm getting Unlimited, I love Spotify.
Then you're doing exactly what they've planned for since day one. To slowly push EVERY user onto their 'Premium' service which basically does the same thing as itunes but without the pay-per-song. Just when I thought there was a non-money-grabbing company left in the world. What a bunch of dickheads.
I really don't see how Jonathan from Spotify doesn't force you to pay for Premium.
HI IT'S JONATHAN FROM SPOTIFY HERE

I like Spotify, but I use it as a commercial radio station, so I'm not upgrading. I'm probably gonna go back to last.fm. I can appreciate why they're doing it, but it's not for me. If I had a phone that supported Spotify Premium I'd consider it, and if I get one I might suscribe. And to be fair, I haven't tried living without Spotify yet :v: I may find myself forking out for Unlimited in the near future.
Spotify is great value, I don't see why you guys don't submit to their demands. I have Spotify Unlimited, no adverts, unlimited listening, and all for the relatively cheap sum of £4.99 a month. It's brilliant, much better than iTunes.

problem is, i don't make £5 a month and a lot of the younger people won't be able to afford it
Does this affect users who registered in 2009 and were either beta users or invited? [editline].[/editline] Because I was never affected by the 20h listening time restriction that was meant to come in to place.
To me, Grooveshark is better than Spotify because there is more "unknown" music, and not only the mainstream music. (Not implying that mainstream music is bad).
What? There's an almost endless amount of "unknown" music on Spotify. I've been using it since release and I can not overstate how much unknown music I've found since I started using it.
New changes only affect people who joined November 2010 or later.
no, people who joined after nov 2010 have them enacted 6 months after joining
Spotify Premium is well worth the cost of a single album per month for thousands. The iPhone support with offline sync is where I mostly use it.
