For me, The Simpsons have been completely overshadowed by Family Guy and Futurama. Though I do still watch it. And thoroughly enjoy it.
No.
The Simpsons are just as, or even more than, popular than Family Guy and Futurama. Hell they added D'oh to the dictionary.
Is it just me or has The Simpsons been getting a little bit more funny recently?
The quality of the show has started picking up again. Maybe not the quality they had in the 90s, but it is once again watchable.

Nostalgia filter, mostly. 'Nuff said, true believers.
I honestly agree that it's gotten better in quality recently.
I normally hate it with a passion, but even the Lisa episodes are tolerable at the moment.
I liked this but then I started watching south park :P

That one is tied with the one where Homer went to work for Scorpio.

Hank Scorpio is awesome. Love that episode.
its weird when the earlier episodes are on the voice acting and drawing is so different
Yeah i understand what you mean, it feels weird whilst watching them.
But of course style of animation changes over time. I mean i remeber when Moe used to have brown hair in the early episodes.
After season 14, It started to go downhill(funny wise). it seems sad, really, the best cartoon ever is one of the stupidest now.

"Oh you're leaving? Well it would help if you would kill someone on your way out."
I don't like all the mindless hate that circulaes around the show now. It's easy to say "The Simpsons sucks now", but I think it's still a great show. The humour and writing has deteriorated a bit, but no-one's forcing you to keep watching it.
Basically, I like The Simpsons.
"You can run, but you can't glide!"
Shit got old about 5 seasons ago.

But yeah, Hank Scorpio was the best secondary character in the history of the show.
Hank Scorpio: "By the way, Homer, what's your least favorite country: Italy or France?"
Homer: "...France."
Hank Scorpio: "Heh. Nobody ever says Italy."

I watch it and its still funny :P
My favourite episode is Duffless. I think it's a damn shame they didn't finish the series in the 90s with a movie. If they'd done The Simpsons Movie in the 90s it would have been one of the all-time greatest family comedies.
"I sleep in a racecar. Do you sleep in a racecar?" - Kirk VanHouten
This one's always stuck.
The Simpsons must have some of the most memorable lines ever shown on television.
What a long way they have come to, especially their movie.
I like at times for the comedy, but mainly for the plot.
I love this show except it's kinda sad to see it going away.

Remember when Smithers used to be black?

It's not the same without Homer saying afterwards, "I sleep in a big bed with my wife."
I like the old Simpsons shorts.
The Hank Scorpio had tons of memorable lines.
Homer: Hey uh, do you have any sugar?
Hank: *Reaches into pockets and gives Homer two handfuls of sugar* Here; sorry it's not in packets. You want some cream?
Homer: Uh... no.
Remember that episode where the Olympic committe almost brought the Olympics to Springfield?
French Rep.: I think that the Olympics should come to France.
Chairman: And why is that?
French Rep.: We don't have to answer to the like of you! *Splashes red wine at Chairman*. I await your reply. *Chairman splashes wine back*
So many hilarious moments from the 90s.

Oh jesus I remember that.
I have The Simpsons theme song in my head.
My favorite episode will always be the one where it shows Homer as a younger boy finding that body in the ravine place, and it was Mr. Smithers father, and Mr. Burns was the man who "murdered" him, does anyone know the name of that episode?
