If you're going to bring Marx into this he was really more of a Socialist than a Communist.
Cheesemonkey: The guy who consistently sounds like a 16-year-old who wants to come off as knowledgeable but actually just sounds like a complete dumbass.
You have no idea what you're talking about; you never do.
Communist? Do you know what communism is or did you just hear some guy say it was flawed and then look at a wiki article or two? Seriously? At first I thought you were joking, but you're cheesemonkey so obviously I was wrong.
Also, just because something has a slight communist bent doesn't make it communist. How many communists celebrate Kwanzaa?
:irony:
A line of a Ron Karenga very early into creating the religion that was dropped soon after it became mainstream
It doesn't matter if he dropped it, he still said it, and it's still the foundation of the holiday.

:cawg:
...
Are you serious?
It celebrates black heritage in the most rudimentary, and almost condescending, manner. Hell, the name is in Swahili and that wasn't spoken in the region where the slaves were taken, and most black people in regions of america are descendants of slaves. The whole purpose of the holiday wasn't to celebrate those things, it was to give society the middle finger so some revolutionaries could have their own special holiday.
And why don't I go out and make a holiday about sharing, community well being, friendship, brotherhood for the Aryan race? Christmas is celebrated by unworthy people, we can't celebrate it.
Regardless, those who celebrate it are not communist, it does not center around communism, it has some communist deals, as do all religious, heritage-based holidays and celebrations, and it has no effect on anyone other than those it celebrates. In other words, NO ONE GIVES A SHIT BECAUSE IT DOESN'T AFFECT THEM. They have a choice to celebrate whatever they want, and it's not like it's 100% hardcore communist. That which it borrows and that which it is meant to stand for are all good. It doesn't hurt anyone, no one gains money or worth from it, you're making a big deal over nothing because you don't like that a bunch of blacks decided it would be neat to celebrate their heritage using a seperate holiday than everyone else's, and it happens to have been created by a Marxist who applied some almost universally shared, almost universally agreed upon as good from Marxism.

Except i'm pretty sure Christmas or any other holiday has nothing about cooperative economics and collective work and responsibility.
And if a bunch of blacks just made their own holiday based on their actual heritage, that would be fine. This is some nutter making a holiday based on Marxist ideas and poorly thought out planning for the sake of making a new Christmas. Did you miss the Swahili and harvesting part?

Cheesemonkey, Listen to Conscript, please.
It's such a nice name, although its background is not something to be very proud of..
FUCK
I still had that copied for the LMAO pics thread!
Let me get the real link quick.
oh ok
It's a flawed system.
Two words: Black sympathy.
So I'm racist If I dont like it? Bullshit.
The point here is not that the holiday is young or who it was created by, but that it celebrates horrible ideas and doesn't have the crutch of "tradition" of "culture" to lean on.
on top of that it enforces racism and deriving ones personal identity largely from race or ancestral culture.
plus it only ever gained wide spread recognition because of "white guilt".

Celebrates horrible ideas like sharing, caring, community being, yes, so terrible.
Enforces racism, such as celebrating your black heritage and ancestral roots.
Hohohoho. Imagine if a white man said the same thing about, for example, Islam.
oh look a nuke

Those are horrible ideas, altruism, mysticism, collectivism, and all the ideas which stem from them are horrible.
It is silly to define oneself based on who you ancestors were, the dude who created it was a black nationalist/supremacist. People should be judged individually not on their race, nationality, or ancestral religion, or in other words not based on a collective to which you have put them in.
Just so you know the reason the Kwanza harvest is celebrated in December is because that's Africa's spring.

What's wrong with communism?
What's wrong with communism?
It makes everyone poor.
Some people are more Equal than others.
The people in charge are always corrupt as fuck.

Its amazing how you argue for communism in one thread, they explain why it's bad in the next.

I'm not drunk at the moment, so that's probably why.
I was never taught about Kwanzaa at school. :/
Infact I didnt know what it was AT ALL until this year.
I'm not drunk at the moment, so that's probably why.
You're 14, you don't drink.
I'm sure your mother did though when she was pregnant.
Oh no! THERE ARE OTHER COUNTRIES THEN AMERICA!
Well considering Kwanzaa is celebrated in the US your statement doesn't apply.
I'm glad I live in a country that didn't bring black people into the country for slavery.
Not that I am a racist and don't want black people in sweden, but fuck off if we would need another thing to celebrate at the end of the fucking year.
Kwanzakumas is the true meaning of life
Africa can have a harvest this time of year. They don't have winter when we do fool.
