Take an intro to music recording, it will enlighten you.
I recommend Reason 4 by propellerhead, great software.
I like Mixcraft. Version 5 is out and I like it. Only problem is that it crashes a lot.

If you get the latest version, it's much more stable than the early Mixcraft 5 versions.
Im using these programs:
Reason 4
Audacity
Goldwave
Audacity is really unproffesional to me, i used it when i recorded some acoustic stuff this summer. Mixcraft feels more put together and proffesional. (I know it's not something that proffesionals use)
I was looking at these two, what would be more recommended?

I have the money for either, but I don't want to pay $30 more if the quality wouldn't be that much different. Plus one comes with Sony Acid, which is a decent program.
