Rise was way before 2000.
In all seriousness, this will probably be the most frowned upon decade. 8 years of political stupidity, the loss of several icons, the slow degradation of consumer electronics (EA just bought my left hand, and it won't stop smashing my old Maxis games!), and the economic crisis.
Yep, this has been one fucked up ten years.
to quote a smart person.
"Accept certain in-alien truths; prices will rise, politicians will cause scandals and when you get old you fantasise that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders."
Well, something like that.

The boring years of no importance whatsoever.
9/11, bush failing at life, and I think we'll see it as the "rap gangsta" era, and instead of discos we shall all remember raves. Perhaps Obama as well, and stuff about tech.

I can't wait until that loses it's popularity, it's been around too long.
2000's = Lack of musical talent
/thread
This is only slightly true for really mainstream/popular music genres. And even then that's been happening for "decades" as with anything really mainstream, with a couple of exceptions here and there.
I.E. EDM music has only gotten "better and better" depending on your point of view, but it's virtually a non-exsistant genre of music in the US other than at an occasional club, and in europe it's not one of the most well known genre's either.
If you constantly look at all the shit mainstream record companies crap out of course you're going to say music sucks. That's why you gotta actually look into more independant artists or ones that actually create something that sounds great to listen to.
It's the decade where the U.S. fucked everything up.
My new fridge
Zombies, Slavery, Aliens...
Oh, 2000-2010? Obama, Pirates, 9/11, Billy Mays, and the list goes on.
The LHC at CERN is the only really big scientific advancement of the past 9 years I can really think of.
Standards for a lot of things got a hell of a lot lower than they used to, or at least that's what I seem to notice.
Sorry, Double post.
