2008, Water on Mars confirmed. Water on another planet is confirmed.
We've known water was on Europa for decades.
The 00's music scene has been like the eighties, most of the popular music sucks. Hopefully the 10's turn out to be like the 90's though :D
i wouldn't say most of the 2000's music sucks, unless you're just focusing on rap, because yeah, most of the rap that came out, sucked.
In a few decades people will look back and say "Wow that black president was a real revoloution" or "Man 9/11 was the worse thing in history" or "Isn't that when the king of pop died?" But for us we will look back and say "Them years kinda blew"
9/11 the worst thing in history? So in 2010 people are going to forget WWII ey?
So in 2010 people are going to forget WWII ey?
Most people are already forgetting WWII. I remember when my U.S. History teacher asked the class what happened on June 6, 1944. They all said that was the day the Civil War began. I had to cry myself to sleep that night.

But at least I'm in the same ballpark.
Population spike?
Bullshit music.
I really don't think the entire decade will be defined by a black president who will have been in office for less than a year this decade. And that didn't really effect the rest of the world any more than any other new American president would have. For me the important things would have been the War on Terror (and by extension 9/11 and War in Iraq). As for cultural trends it'll be the point at which all the lines began to fade. There's no real predominant trend that encapsulated this decade. Gangstas are still prevalent but most people grew out of it by the start of the millenium. Indie kids started appearing in greater numbers lately but hardly at Hippies at Woodstock levels. Metal-heads are still around. But yeah I didn't see any huge cultural trends or groups starting up. Aside from nerds becoming mainstream I guess.

I'm still waiting for the plot of Children of Men to kick in, and we all stop making babies.
Rap and Theatrical music have both seen a much larger market than in previous decades.
I misread that as rape and theatrical music.
Social networking, black president, and terrorists. Tune in next decade for the end of the world!
Obama. Recession.
In terms of gaming innovation we have shitty motion control, the death of the sonic franchise, and an explosion of computer technology.
People thinking rap and hip hop is music?
If you want to get even more technical, you could say that it will also be remembered for the downfall of Sega.
Actually, it should be obvious, When people stopped calling their year 1996-blah blah blah, and go into the 21st century, You only get to see this thing ONCE in your life (Maybe twice, if you're lucky)
To all the people saying that noughties suck and the nineties were better: I agree. The 90s had some of the best, and most thoughtful, music ever. Lyrics like: YOOO tell you what I want, what I really really want So tell me what you want, what you really really want I want huh! I want huh! I want huh! I want huh! I really really really wanna zig a zig, ah!
