dawg, we know how much the earth weighs
theres seriously almost nothing left but logic and reason
Well with science there will be never ending discoveries, we barley even know anything about gravity.
thats what im sayin i feel like we shouldnt'
have you ever attempted to learn quantum physics? I have a feeling you just don't like science because you don't understand it :v: its incredibly interesting and lots of crazy things happen in the universe.
Also humans have known the approximate weight of the earth for more than a hundred years, thats an old discovery
theres seriously almost nothing left but logic and reason
how awful!

I tried to think of a sensible argument against reason but it's kind of difficult when the concept is devoid of meaning.
The more you know, the less there is to know.
Its not like you can know everything though so thats kinda a moot point
The more you know, the less there is to know.
There is an unlimited pool of knowledge in all kinds of fields, you can always learn more.
There is an unlimited pool of knowledge in all kinds of fields, you can always learn more.
But everything is finite
What new you can learn, for example from an wheel?

I didn't mean an infinite knowledge on separate subject, but rather all subjects pooled together :v:

Using reason to argue against reason?

explain?

quantum physics was the reason i got interested in learning back in my junior year of high school. i had a fucking awesome chemistry teacher and all we did was watch videos on quantum physics, shit is so interesting. you think you've learned it all but then some other completely new and weird concept pops up.
If you don't like science go get royally baked and watch Through the Wormhole or Cosmos, having your mind blown repeatedly should do the trick.
This is some fucking deep shit..
This is far from truth. While you might be broken it's usually not genetic, at least not entirely. still genetically i'm kinda messed up and the chances of my partner being messed up is through the roof. even by some miracle she comes out with a normal brain we're gonna raise her to be messed up completely by accident.
it's sort of like this

or worse.
and johnny
when i said entropy i meant this
the universe started out with an initial finite amount of energy. ergo the two fields of energy we call stars would be separate simply because they came from different matter.
you can't make two stars from the amount it would take to make one.
everything before you came from the same big blast, if you really get right down to it we are all the same thing in a sense because everything came from the same singularity. that singularity wasn't infinite or all powerful though, eventually everything from the blast will subside, and nothing will be left.
all matter is separate is what i'm trying to say i guess.

also i might see exactly (i mean your exact train of thought, i had a good idea about your idea but now it seems much clearer) where you're coming from though...
i still disagree with your opinion though.
i hate to disrupt any conversation that is currently going on, but i feel this is an appropriate thread to kind of vent whatever thoughts are on my mind
i can't help but shake the feeling that dying young would be a great way to go. the next 4-5 years of my life will be the greatest years of my life, according to what people have told me.
I know raising children, grandchildren, etc. is an amazing experience, but honestly, i get sad at the thought of growing up. its just something that's been getting at me lately, and i needed a place to express my thoughts.
i hate to bring it up but holy shit
being young is so awesome that words can't even describe...
it's sad, very sad, knowing that i won't be able to live this life forever...
i love everyone who's been involved in the life from my teens - 20s...
i love you all, sorry if i seem like a poon talking about that, but really, i love yall
my god i wish i could go back to shit, so irresponsible and self endangering it's in insane, so bad. but can't now. kinda premature in my case but cherish your youth because while growing up can have mad perks, being a kid has way more when you weigh it out.

like i beat the shit out of someone 4 years ago i'd probably get locked up then put in the hospital or some shit.
i beat the shit out of somebody now there's a good chance i'm spending at least 2 years in butt-penn.

what makes you want to beat the living crap out of somebody
it's an example.
i'm fairly mild mannered irl.
Since every cell in the body gets replaced every seventh year, what does that mean to our conscious existence? Did I enter the universe today, and was the 13-year old me not the same energy of consciousness? Will another consciousness replace me slowly during the following seven years? But then who was phone?
Nope, everything indicates that consciousness is the illusion of existing as the combined reactions in a three dimensional location that defines our brain. But is death therefore the ultimate end to everything that defines us?
It doesn't seem like it from my perspective. The entire universe is the result of entanglements in space itself, being alive simply means we can observe the reactions that perpetuate existence since being aware just defines us as catalysts for our surrounding world. Being able to observe therefore creates the illusion of time and as a result the illusion of finite existence.
Corporeal death means nothing in the aspect of being aware, time has no meaning when nothing is observable, therefore existence as a conscious being is a perpetual curse to everything that exists.
I like to think of consciousness as something of a higher level in the universe.
I like to think of consciousness as something of a higher level in the universe.
It feels rather redundant for an observer to express observation as something more than not observing.
It feels rather redundant for an observer to express observation as something more than not observing.
it's still observing, it's just a "more powerful" and fractal type of observation. the higher consciousness observes itself through the act of it observing itself. hinduism is big on that.

I'm observing the fact that I'm observing myself and am therefore observing the observation of myself which makes me reach the conclusion that I'm observing the observation of my own observation, which now too have been observed by observation while observing its own fact of being observed as an observation of an observation of an observation of the observation of me observing my perception of observing this observation while observing.
Perplexity, thy name?
Is it just me, or doesn't Mr. Bean resemble the persona of an Atypical Autistic person who can barely speak? The show is basically about an alone adult autistic who is forced upon the rules of society where his struggles and victories in daily life is based around his oddities for not being able to conform to societal norms.

pretty sure brain cells don't get replaced.
Neurons in the cerebral cortex are never replaced. There are no neurons added to your cerebral cortex after birth. Any cerebral cortex neurons that die are not replaced.
Fat cells are replaced at the rate of about 10% per year in adults. So you could say that on average, human beings replace all their fat cells about every ten years.
Cardiomyocyte heart cells are replaced at a reducing rate as we age. At age 25, about 1% of cells are replaced every year. Replacement slows gradually to about 0.5% at age 70. Even in people who have lived a very long life, less than half of the cardiomyocyte cells have been replaced. Those that aren’t replaced have been there since birth.
pretty sure brain cells don't get replaced.
"brain cells" is a very broad term, some do regenerate, and as storm said, cells in the cerebral cortex do not.
and. hur hur, that just so happens to be the part of the brain that's "you"
and. hur hur, that just so happens to be the part of the brain that's "you"
It's not like "you" are just the cerebral cortex. So before you hurr hurr me, why don't you look up more about the brain
