Yeh De Jong's foul was really bad and probably should've been sent off, and this is coming from a Man City supporter! It wasn't the most exciting game, but the better team won in the end. Bien hecho España.
Spain deserved the win. The dutch were out there trying to STOP the spanish from playing and not playing themselves, whereas the spanish's tactics were you play nice football to win the game.
The dutch were seriously lucky. Atleast two maybe three of them should have been sent off and it would have been a completly different match.

What is it with people claiming that the Spanish played fair and nice? Constantly diving (and succeeding in doing so) comes across as neither fair nor nice.
Though I have to agree that De Jong should've been sent off for that chest kick. Even if it wasn't deliberate (which it probably wasn't if he is smart enough), that's still dangerous play.

Ah the joys of having a Spanish girlfriend, an excuse to support the winning team. I'm also 1/4 Dutch so didn't do so bad. I'll keep quiet about the English side of me though!
But great reffing from us Brits though, managed the keep their cool when there were some bad tackles and didn't get influenced by any of the players protesting their 'innocence'. Was a good game and the best team definitley won, I'd give anything to be in Spain tonight for the celebrations.
