got home from Sonisphere about 45 minutes ago. fucking awesome
Did you crowd surf and pit?
No shows ever come to here except for Vacouver, and if it's in Vancouver then it's obv 18+ and I can't get a ride out there to begin with.
I was lucky Protest the hero was only 20 minutes away and all ages though, fun show.
going to LEEDS 2011 me and my friends just sorted out a minibus to get there. tough work
Yeah OFWGKTA are on. I'm looking forward to seeing Death From Above 1979 as well!
Nobody I'm going with knows who OFWGKTA are, so I might not even get to see them, bad times.
Damn, Hellfest's lineup looked fucking GODLY.
It was awesome, unfortunately it rained the first day and I wasn't able to see some bands I wanted to see.
I saw:
Malevolent Creation
Valient Thorr
Suicide Silence (hahahahahaha)
Krisiun
Eyehategod
*Dagoba and Alter Bridge while waiting in line to buy a shirt
Down
Meshuggah
Total Fucking Destruction
Exhumed
Municipal Waste
Black Label Society
Destruction
Apocalyptica (over half of their set consisted of Metallica covers...)
Sodom
Kreator
Scorpions
Bolt Thrower
Converge
Coroner
Atheist
The Ocean
Ghost
Kylesa
The Black Dahlia Murder
Judas Priest
Electric Wizard
Ozzy Osborne
Opeth
Bands I wanted to see:
Clutch
Morbid Angel (heard them from my tent)
Vader
Possessed
Mayhem
The Melvins
Tiptykon
D.R.I.
Bad Brains
Grave
That is an awesome lineup.

Fuck friends.
Just because you don't know anyone who likes the bands you wanna see doesn't mean you shouldn't see them. I'm lucky in that I do but I have been to a few gigs without anyone before, it's still enjoyable.
nothing special out here, just got one called Pointfest I've went too a few times, mostly alt rock bands like Three Days Grace, Papa Roach etc.
we've got mayhem and warped but I haven't been very interested in the lineups lately.

America gets SXSW and Coachella though.

I'll try. Are you going to OFWGKTA? Want to meet up?
Never been able to go to any festivals... yet. Went to ONE Warped Tour and it was terrible because my brother and I were the only ones who didn't look like stupid little fucks and all but like 3 bands sucked. I'm going with like 5 people this year and we're going to sit around away from the music, get really high and just chill, and see the five (ska-)punk bands that are actually good there. Probably won't be worth the money but eh, it might be fun.
Also in Columbia, MD the venue Merriweather Post Pavilion was so god damned cool it gave me the vibe of being at a music festival. It's a fucking gorgeous forest that just so happens to have a giant ass venue inside of it that is also surrounded by an even smaller forrest. If you're ever there please go see a band you like at that venue it was amazing. I saw Animal Collective play there this week (it was pretty rad, they named an album after the place) and it was overrun by hipsters, so I could only imagine how cool it would be without them.
I really want to go to one of the Coachellas or Bonnaroo next year with my brother and maybe a few friends (probably Bonnaroo because we live in AZ) but since I've been laid off and I have no real way to get money since I'm still in High School things are looking grim. Once I get another job I can continue with saving up for it.
I'd probably be allowed to go to a festival but I don't like the sound quality outside and I can't afford it
the sound at sonisphere is pretty much perfect.
I went to Mayhem Fest yesterday. Heres my review.
Rules of a Concert First Off
Once your done with the festival part and go to the mainstage where all the headliners are playing. Heres some rules for EVERYONE around you. (Not you personally.)
1.Be as loud as fucking possible.
2. When they say to make noise, you bang your chair so hard that you cant hear the acutal music.
3. Be a dick.
4. Smoke Weed
5. Drink.
6. Smoke crack.
7. Even if your underage, you can light blunts apparently.
----
I saw Kingdom of Sorrow, Redfang, Trivum, Unearth, Inflames, Godsmack, Disturbed, Machinehead, Megadeth (Word of advice, Megadeth is crapping out. You couldnt understand anything he was saying. He was just making noises with his throat basically.))
And for being a raging cunt earlier, I got hurt in Redfangs pit.
