Hurr durr dis card eis not fitt so i trim it down :downs:
You should've hired someone to do this shit for you, clearly you know nothing.
Seriously, do some research before you attempt to modify/build a computer yourself. I think not cutting shit off the components is lesson one.
:10bux: says the OP's mom wouldn't let him use her credit card to order it from NewEgg. :smug:
hey guys my NES cartridge of rad racer won't fit in my ps3 maybe if i chop it into little pieces it'll work
aww shit my new huge flat-screen tv wont fit into my room maybe if i slice it in half itll fit.
4350? $100? Holy shit not only did you get ripped off but you got pwned.
It's your own fucking fault. Do some price-shopping first.
About two years back , I was looking at gpu's at best buy and one of the employees was trying to sell me a 8800 gt priced at 325 dollars when at the time it cost 199 at Fry's. Wasn't stupid enough to go for it.
A few days after Christmas I went into Bestbuy to see what kind of deals they had, and I found a 1TB hard drive for the same price as it was on Newegg, so I bought it. While I was in the checkout lane, a guy in front of me (probably about 15-16 years old) bought a 9400GT for $200. It was funny because he was talking to his friend about how he's so good at computers and he was bragging about the "awesome" card he was getting.
You... Cut a piece of your video card off?
It's OK, his dad's friend works at Nvidia and told him to cut off the anti-overclocking chip.
Its a fucking slimline case. and the metal part come off anyways so whats the problem with cutting them?
Because chances are it was a necessary piece for it's well being...? Oh my god, my grandma knew not to screw around with pieces from her PC. And the problem is with cutting them off is this: The company didn't just throw some random shitty useless pieces of metal onto a graphics card, it's the fact that you have a slimline case and cut off those pieces. For once, I feel disdain for the consumer and not Best Buy. And those screws weren't to take it off, they were to keep it on the chip
Hey guize my pc got a virus so i bought a new one :(
Remember buy the most expensive one you can find at Best Buy
Refer to the computer/hardware section if you want to get the best bang for your buck, it helps.
A lot.
Once, I saw Wal-Mart selling Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 for $30, and the Platinum edition right beside it for $20.
Hey OP I have a rusted up 1973 Ford Pinto, I want $200,000. Wanna make a deal?

I don't think it'll fit all the way in my garage. Can you cut up some of the engine to make it slimmer?

Yeah no returns though sorry.
What kind of PC builder doesn't check newegg before purchasing parts...
What kind of PC builder doesn't check newegg before purchasing parts...
A stupid one.
OP keeps on trying to gain sympathy, but it's just not working out for him.
On the other hand, that was a stupid idea. Why did you think it would be great to cut a piece off of the card, rather than return it?
It baffles the mind.
When I was a total noob I bought an 8500gt from Bestbuy for like $150, realized what I had done later that day, and I couldn't return it because my parents wouldn't drive me back to the store to get my money back..
i guess best buy...wasn't the best buy for you.
YYYYEEEAAAAAAH
Last Friday i bought an Ati Radeon HD 4550 from bestbuy for the price of $150 canadian dollars. When i got home and tried to install it, it could not fit in my slimline pc due to the large metal parts. So i cut them off (HUUUGEE MISTAKE). It still worked. But while i was browsing the internet i found out the 4550 is a fucking VALUE card worth around 40 dollars on newegg. Now i cant return it because of the cut metal and they ripped me off 110 dollars. If i ever return that shit i will buy everything online. Big companies always rip you off. Right now i could have had a 9800 GTX + if i knew what i was doing... I might even call them up notifying them they are selling a 40 dollar card for 150, the price of a card 4x better.
Just read this post, dunno if anyone else has commented.

So essentially, you get back a shit ton of money if you can find the same video card at a different Canadian store. [[ It has to be one you can go into, or some shit. I've used it for games and shit when I found them cheaper at walmart. ]]
:)
So voiding the warranty is their fault? :downs:
Wait, slow down...It's not the fact that you were an idiot when it came to graphics cards that makes me question you...
But you tried to get this...

To fit into this...

You have over a hundred post on a forum that has a hardware section, it's your own fault for not checking here first.
I went to Bestbuy and bought The Orange Box + The Orange Box Strategy Guide, and a CSS pack that came with CSS, DODS, and HL2 : DM a few years back.
Total? 95$
How much did i pay? 70$
The new girl didnt ring up my strategy guide right, and the CSS pack was 20$ in all. Orange Box just came out around then, maybe a few months earlier (i honestly forget, but i got it for 50$) And so that is why i love Valve so much, i saw my luck as an omen to become a Valve gamer.
Why the fuck did you buy a strategy guide for a valve game
With all things, research before you buy.
Nice job not doing your research, then for some bizzare reason thinking "oh I know I'll just cut these parts off it sure won't affect anything if I need to take it back for some reason"
This guy should get the Darwin award
