Holy shit, your voice is badass. I'd kill for an introduction with that voice.
If you and the Stanly Parable narrator were to make love, i'd have to be gay for a bit.
I have to ask. What is your audio setup? my ears have creamed.
It kind of sounds like Agent 47 is reading this :v:
This reminds me so much of all those Duke recordings.
I have to ask. What is your audio setup?
I record from an AT2020 Microphone attached to a mic stand, a VoxGuard, a Pop Filter, and a Presonus Pre-Amp, all from my office closet. My software is Audacity 1.2.6, and I use NCH WavePad Sound Editor for noise removal.
If you and the Stanly Parable narrator were to make love, i'd have to be gay for a bit.
Bah, surely he can do better than me. I mean, if ANYONE'S voice is worth spontaneously being gay for, it's Clancy Brown's, hands down, heh.
Christ your voice is awesome.

You sure can.
I'm reading this I'm at the part where he sent someone "Do you like anal?" My sides went on a vacation to Hawaii. [editline]20th December 2012[/editline] Okay so he bought sex from this A-ko girl and now she's pregnant I kind of want to know hos this ends because it's just so amazingly hilarious
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/492222 wow thats great
Hehe, thank you kindly.
please make a recording of you saying this
please make a recording of you saying this
I always told myself that I'd never try and do a Doakes voice in fear of completely buggering it up. Then again, I've buggered up voices in the past and near present, so I guess I've got nothing to lose then. ...God help us all...
Funny recording. Awesome voice. If i were to contact you about narration for a game at some point (paid work), would you be interested?
Funny recording. Awesome voice. If i were to contact you about narration for a game at some point (paid work), would you be interested?
Absolutely. Of course, some specifics would probably need to be sent my way, but I'm generally always on board when it comes to voice acting for video games.
It kind of sounds like Agent 47 is reading this :v:
My thoughts exactly. OP please make a clip of agent 47 quotes!
i played the clip and within the first 5 seconds i noticed my pants were completely off and i have no idea how that happened jesus christ your voice bro
you should read those spaghetti greentext stories and breathe new life in to them
Can you try some glitch audio? I can't explain the effect but your voice sounds perfect for a malfunctioning audio device or something.
You have a really, really good voice.
So you have this voice and a beard? Are you Brian Blessed's long lost son?!

I want to move to a higher end microphone on an XLR interface, and then I see people like you running a AT2020 and come out with amazing results. I wonder if it's the VoxGaurd that makes the difference in this case.

For example: how well insulated is the location in which you record from? What is the set recording volume of the USB you plug into? What kind of noise removal software do you use? And of course, do you have a Pre-Amp? Pre-Amp isn't NECESSARY, mind you, I mean, I've done most of my recordings without one, they are just very handy for fast volume control. Vox, on the other hand, I would state as a larger necessity for every day recording, as it does a solid job of physically removing a lot of noise and static, enough to where I can really crank up the volume before converting my recording to an mp3, and removing all remaining static from there. Really, your microphone is only half the battle when it comes to clean recording, because unless you're willing to spend $1,600 on studio quality Mel Blanc gear, whatever mic you get will still be susceptible to static and volume issues if not handled accordingly. Trust me, when I first started using my AT2020, I was in the exact same boat as you, then I browsed around, checked with peer VA's, and now, I can say with a straight face that I'm legitimately happy with my current recording setup.

My room is pretty dead, even if I talk on the other side of my room I don't hear much reverb. I'm at 30% on the volume. I use Adobe Audition CS6, but it's generally not needed, I "tuned" my main gaming workstation to be nearly silent and there is effectively noiseless in my recordings. I'm aware it's not just the mic, but I guess I kind of got annoyed with how much my speaking mouth sounds show up, so I was looking into other things. I think my main issue is my mic is too close usually, but I like how much vocal detail shows up in the lower tones when I'm close. : \ I mean I'm happy with how I sound, but I'm always looking for ways to improve it and what to work on.

If so, then really that's all at the mercy of the session itself. Every time I finish recording, I always go through and listen to each take, and if I hear one of those unappealing sounds, I either remove it manually in the recording track, or if it's too present to be removed, I just save face and re-record more carefully to ensure it doesn't pop up again. If you'd like, I can link you to a few set-up advisories posted by far more predominant voice actors than I.

I know it's something that can't really magically be fixed by the microphone, but I still ask people what they are using. I don't do voice acting, not really anyways, I do (it's a taboo word here) commentary on my videos. As in, tutorials, guides, general voice overs for projects, that kind of thing, but it can be annoying if the video is, in general, quiet. I think it's in general just my speaking style. If it's not too much trouble though, I'd be up for that stuff via PM when you get the chance.

Recording takes however long it does and is more or less painless. It's the actual process of going through each and every line and seeing what works and what doesn't, removing clicks, mush in lines, background jibber gabber, that makes it such a hassle. Unfortunately, it's also an essential process for ensuring the audio quality to your exported file. My advice is when you export a recording to say mp3 or wav, to set your actual track volume to as high as you can without lines peaking, then to download WavePad Sound Editor (which is freeware noise removal) and to remove all noise from there. It's generally a very quick and painless process, and the end result is often times very satisfactory because now you can play your exported audio at a much higher volume like I did here without static getting in the way. That's why it's so important to set a higher volume to your track recording before you export because otherwise when you remove background noise, you'll get a lot of 'water effect' where silent lines just fade out all together. I'll be sure to pm a few links when I can find them.
So I came across a link to reddit about a user seeking relationship advice on how to win this Lesbian he had in class twelve years prior. After reading it, scratching my head, and reading it again, I was compelled to make this: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/515496 I apologize in advance.
Trade voices? Also I've been editing audio for a while and never considered normalizing up before noise removal
I HAVE CS6, but I've yet to really record from it since I'm kind of struggling with configuring it to read my AT2020, so I can't really say with any certainty how the two compare. However, what I will say is it's freeware, and it's what was used to edit some of my recordings that made it into imdb credible games. Since it's free, I say at the very least, give it a go and see if you like what you hear or not. *I only recommend it for noise removal, from my understanding, actual recording from WavePad can be kind of lackluster*.
Sooooo, is it bad that someone actually thought this individual from reddit was me?
AWWW. That so mean! I would have kept texting you even if I were gay! (I'm not gay) She way she was rude to you basically meant she wanted to do exactly what she did to you on that night.
