I've heard that it seems to go black and white when you are near/see a nuke.

May I just ask how anyone knows this? :v:

I imagine that taking eye cells and sticking them near a fission reaction would be able to prove this, if it's true.
That is really good but the flowers are a bit too yellow I think.
There's a lot of light bouncing off them.
I think he was trying to show the shockwave.
was exactly that :)
I don't really know all the tips and tricks of photoshop at the moment so if anyone could give me any information on how to do a realistic shockwave-style thing , please tell me.
I'd say take a look at some GMod nukes, the shockwaves look pretty good on the ground.
It's distorted only where the shockwave is rather than the whole area.
Try that, see how it looks.

Ok, I'm not really into the shockwave thingy, but why not?
1. [img_thumb]http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/1650/54255962.png[/img_thumb]
Make a round selection on a new layer with a small feather. (I use 2px.)
Fill this new layer with a white color.
2. [img_thumb]http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/8138/37575223.png[/img_thumb]
Make a new oval selection over the current one for the perspective. Press ctrl+shift to invert the selection and delete it's contents.
3. [img_thumb]http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/3852/64431918.png[/img_thumb]
Use the eraser tool with hardness 0% to remove some of the middle, indicating that this is where the shockwave was and not is.
4. [img_thumb]http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/9996/63135173.png[/img_thumb]
Turn down the opacity. Duplicate the background layer (With the picture on it)
5. [img_thumb]http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/8601/87144863.png[/img_thumb]
Ctrl + click the shockwave layer. Go back to the background layer copy and choose filter -> radial blur.
Type: Zoom.
Strength: 10.
It should look like the image above.

Needs some kind of a ripple wavy thing to it, otherwise it's just a white sphere

If you see a nuke you go blind.
I tried, im kinda new to this :downs:

I failed with the nuke though
I used Paint.NET :saddowns:
And I got bored in the middle of doin it...
So now I present to you you: The worst "shopped" field in the world :colbert:

A hole down to hell...

That's a nuke? I thought it was a tornado. If it was blurred less and further away it might have worked.
I tried, I'm not sure about it. What could I change?

Well, personally I always think motion blur is unnecessary.

Needs Francis.

(Sorry, didn't realise all the other nukes until after I'd made it)
What's with the nukes?

That's one small nuke, looks like it exploded somewhere in the middle of the field.
It would look much more appropriate if you put it behind those hills.
Why does his feet fade out on top of the grass? :v:

I guess that's why I can see directly through his leg to the grass behind him.
Why did he get flooded with dumbs? He has a good point there. I know it would be really hard to properly determine which pixels should be in front of or behind the stalker's leg, but the fade kind of breaks the illusion of the whole composition. Everything else is nicely put together so the transition between the legs and grass kind of sticks out in a negative way.
i hate it how people rate a post dumb if they don't get the joke
i hate it how people rate a post dumb if they don't get the joke
So I guess it never came across your mind that it's not really funny and that is why you get boxes?

You really care about ratings?
I feel like this thread needs mo' nukes... In Video!
