I hate video game movies. They never stick to the story, and always change how the character should really act.
I hate video game movies. As for the story, it's usually too long, and thus, changes need to be made.
The second I saw the picture I automatically knew it would be shit Then I read it was a Zelda film and knew it would be shittier Game-films are never good.
Yeah link was not link
As for the story, it's usually too long, and thus, changes need to be made.
Well for a book like harry potter, it was too long, but they still stuck with the main idea, and even put in some of the minor details. But with video game movies, it's always some random story that the writers shit out in a week I guess the problem is that a game is meant to be PLAYED, not WATCHED, so there's more action than story, so If you did all the dungeons and tried to fit it in a 2 hour long movie with story, begining, and finale, it would be some REALLY short scenes, like [link enters fire temple] [link gets temple specific item] [link fights boss] [link leaves fire temple] next scene [link goes to the market, buys shit] next scene [link enters water temple] etc. And it would be nothing but that. so i see why they don't stick to the story, but they could at least keep the main plot line intact Maybe not use all the temples, maybe leave a lot out, but at LEAST keep the "Link must use the power of time to save Zelda" intact
Some games just can't be films. The dungeon gameplay just wouldn't translate well in film. If you make a Zelda film, base it within the universe but don't base it on a games plot, because then you are asking for people to make subconscious comparisons to how they felt when they played the game the first time. A feeling you can't recreate effectively for each individual. Oh and going to film school helps. And getting a budget. Which is what made this one 100 times better:
I remember that. It looked really, really good for an April Fool's joke.
