There is one who's done alright who was on one of the programmes, he rents land off the council and the gypsies pay him in rent to live there in their caravans, he lives in a chalet and drives an Audi

I've never understood the concept of this program. The only thing about gypsies that sets them apart from the rest of the chavs in this country is the fact that they live in caravans. They listen to shite music, dress like twats and have no culture and no education.

I'm surprised enough people watch the Brit Awards for this to even be surprising.

This show was hilarious, much more fun than the Brit awards! Gypsies whine about being discriminated against by society and yet I've seen them park up in an area near my old house without permission, throw their rubbish everywhere and then fuck off leaving the area trashed. The same happened in a space right behind my best friend's home at the time and they played loud music late at night and trashed the area.They also take their kids out of school so they can brainwash them into strict gender roles, the show even said it was so they "would not be corrupted by outside influences". These kids don't really get a say in what they want to do with their lives it seems. Plus the weddings are the tackiest things I've ever seen, how the fuck do they afford this shit?

You must've had a slightly slanted view of the content, since it was made clear that most travellers are devout Catholics and sex before marriage is not part of their lifestyle. The children dressing up and dancing suggestively is a shock but it doesn't mean they are "slutty" just unaware of why this would be disapproved of. Do so many people really think "it's not my culture so I disapprove of it even though the people in that culture are willing participants in the lifestyle"? Yes, it's a lifestyle contrary to our ideas on the treatment of women in particular - but as long as people are there by choice and are not being harmed, should anyone else have the right to interfere? It is a kind of outlaw culture for a reason, travelling people have been persecuted for centuries and long ago fell out with the idea that we should all cooperate with the government and law enforcement agencies, instead developing a strict code of behaviour of their own. Gradually travellers are being assimilated but the huge amount of prejudice doesn't exactly make it easy. Most in the UK no longer travel but live on fixed sites. The people who do camp illegally and leave rubbish are few and far between, and I'd like to point out that there are many types and origins of travellers most of whom are not Romani and therefore not really "gypsies". Incidentally Charlie Chaplin was of Romani descent - and very proud of it too, by all accounts.

The "laid" part was also a joke because it seem like a boy can just go up and ask "Hey, want to get married?".

Cost the farmer thousands to fix up the field and he then had 3 large concrete blocks put into place in front of the gate to the field.
