Took a trip there a few years ago... spent some time in Moscow and St. Petersburg. I DO NOT... I repeat... DO NOT... agree with this statement. During the time I was there, I was borderline mugged, forced to bribe my way on to a train, and almost killed by a suicide bomber. The country is still struggling with post-Iron Curtain issues.

1. Russia wasn't very sexist with people in the army. They let women in-list in the military because after WW II the number women surpassed the number of men in the country.

They have a strong central government but small businesses are encouraged and you can own private property.
