Eye candy right there man. Love it.
First project with the Pen Tool. Going on my MUN page (model united nations) for my Yearbook class where we make the pages, publish, not get sued... Compared to everybody else, I am probably one of the better students. actually no I AM one of the better students, I might show you guys a page some girl did later.... it was horrible. [QUOTE=ChestyMcGee;25976315]Skintone study/tablet practice: [img_thumb]http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/4564/skintonestudy.jpg[/img_thumb][/QUOTE] You seem to have blue around your highlight, skin tone turns a bit yellow towards their brightest point unless a blue light is being shined. It also turns dark/dull red towards the darker points. You should also try practicing adding temperature change from the brighter to darker parts of the skin. Warmer lights and cooler darks.. Dark violet works well as a cool red for shadows.. Any light yellow will do good for lights usually. Also you could try adding a reflected light in that sphere using a tint of blue on skin tone to show better separation of warms and cools in the human skin. Even if you are trying to go for a photo realistic skin tone, it's always nice to add temperature change for additional flavor. [img]http://henryyanart.com/gallery/paint/img/1165121200.jpg[/img]

speaking of poorly-represented DC characters drawn on looseleaf paper (who was? i was! its like my bread and butter), i give you, HAL JORDAN. i really gotta get a proper sketchbook. or do i have the talent required to own one? probably not! [img]http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/8215/11092010234010.jpg[/img] (i used [url=http://comicartcommunity.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=10301]this picture[/url] as a reference) for future reference: url tags=/=img tags. goddammit!
I refined and hollowed out my 'old man' today and decided that he isn't an old man, just a man caught between being healthy and being a zombie :D So my next part of the project is to do a healthy verson of him followed by a zombie version and do it in a series, totally awesome. They will be intended to hang on the wall.
[QUOTE=for no reason;25985084] something not funny [URL]http://evant1017.deviantart.com/#/d32i4ly[/URL][/QUOTE] It's boring to look at, there's no artistic value to it what so ever, shape definitions are horrid, material definitions are not there and no laws of physics apply as far as the lighting goes. I don't think you learned anything at all about your red pen. And that text makes no goddamn sence. You're fucking seventeen. You should've stopped that dramatic emo bullshit 5 years ago! Consult some perspective tutorials and do some metal and liquid studies from life. Also [url]www.drawspace.com[/url] might have something
yeah, its kinda odd that it's dripping on a slant.

Go for it.
haha yeah, i know. im just lazy

some doodles from sketchbook. I forgot my notebook, where I've been drawing into mostly at school during the only goddamn time I'm home while the sun is out. [IMG]http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/314/5/f/metal_shade_test_by_infernomonster-d32lj2u.jpg[/IMG] and if anyone can be bothered, I'd love an redline on the Matatron below [IMG]http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/314/b/e/matatron_doodle_by_infernomonster-d32lj4m.jpg[/IMG]

some retarded school project: [img]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8824257/R%C3%B8dhetteogulven_v1_prev.png[/img] Its the wolf spotting little red riding hood.
[QUOTE=onox37;25990027]It's not finished. His face has zero shadows and zero shading. His hair is completely flat.[/QUOTE] waaah everything has to follow all the rules all the time
[QUOTE=professor cool.;25992372]waaah everything has to follow all the rules all the time[/QUOTE] What rules? If he's trying to do a realistic portrait, he's failing. If he's trying to do a stylistic piece then... well then it's not very stylish, unless the style is just half of the portrait done realistically and then the other half done at all (a style that may be, but it is an unattractive style). There are no "rules" in art, there's just stuff that looks bad.

[QUOTE=Rusty100;25992572]it doesn't look bad i think it looks great how it is[/QUOTE] To quote my AP art teacher, "Just because it looks good now doesn't mean it's finished. Keep going." To which I promptly destroy my masterpiece somehow.
well i very strongly disagree, your AP art teacher is a dickhole less is more, don't over complicate things, and a good artist knows when to STOP working on something [editline]12th November 2010[/editline] because at a certain point, you are only taking away from it by working on it too much
Everything is art. But that doesn't mean art can't be shit. [editline]11th November 2010[/editline] [QUOTE=JoeyZ;25992549]I love your mind. [/QUOTE] And I'm absolutely in love with yours. What art style are we doing by the way? Syrrealism? [editline]11th November 2010[/editline] [QUOTE=JoeyZ;25992549]I love your mind. [/QUOTE] And I'm absolutely in love with yours. [QUOTE=JoeyZ;25992549] Reminds me of Little Big Planet[/QUOTE] Yeah i was thinking about that a bit. The task was just to illustrate the given scene frome red ridinghood.
