Carrion drake WIP.
the wings are a bitch to get right.
[editline]22nd November 2010[/editline]
the can is just a size comparison. nothing fancy.
If you are trying to make the wings bat-like, you do realize the wing bones are supposed to be it's fingers, yes?

I love your monsters.
Really quick sketch of an armoured Ork boss thing:

With horrible posture and proportions.
Probably one of the best drawings I've done.

Totally missed that.

Just go easy on me :ohdear:

Screw that.

No point in creating a new topic for this image. This is just a try at making my vectors look more clean looking.
she has the body proportions of a midget
reminds me how much i hate anime
and why do they have that little canine tooth only on one side even from the front on its stupid

changing the perspective, tried to reduce the black lines on the face, failing to get the wings right.
and why do they have that little canine tooth only on one side even from the front on its stupid
Now that I look at it. It does look stupid there. I think I'll go change it.

Scrolled down as far as shoulders. No clothing to be seen. Scrolled back up again.
I'm rare in that I can appreciate manga-style stuff as well as regular art (don't appreciate it as much, of course, unless it clearly required a lot of skill or talent, which it usually doesn't).
[editline]23rd November 2010[/editline]
Although I hate that whole child-like proportions with massive breasts thing that people always seem to do... Why do people often do that? It's creepy. I've seen plenty of manga pics with adult-like proportions, yet this kind of thing still crops up all over the place.
most custom blu-ray cover art ahoy
so the ACTUAL existing cover art for 2001 sucks ass:
[img_thumb]http://images.blu-ray.com/movies/covers/511_front.jpg[/img_thumb]
so i made one with more of the poster feel

looks like a self-printed rental cover now
well it was poster inspired

u know
but different
[editline]23rd November 2010[/editline]
on a side note, i found out the poster font is 'futura-bold', funnily enough the first font i tried when searching for an appropriate one
It's the way the title and the image are seperate from each other that makes it look so amateur-ish, I reckon. On the poster, the title is on the image, and that looks way better imo.
i don't feel that way about the text placement at all
in fact i feel the exact opposite
examples of some existing dvd covers

[editline]24th November 2010[/editline]
i suppose it is just personal taste because i really like that style and don't think it looks 'amateurish' at all
nice title rusty
Hmm I see your point.
Sometimes, Rusty, I think you take minimalist too far and the cover ends up looking like something from a 90s B-Movie.
Actually no I guess it could be worse:

i don't feel i take it too far, and i definitely don't agree about the 90's b movie thing, but there is definitely a classical intention, a lot of other stuff i do almost made to look like a screen print.
here's the full cover with placeholder text

the reason i make custom cover art is i hate all the clutter of the official ones, with all the information that does need to be there, but nobody cares about. with something custom, it doesn't need to be there, and so i can put design ahead of information

Haha, what a mixmash.
The front cover is really clean and simple (I dislike it too, though I like it better when looked at like this rather than on a cover) and the backcover is stuffed with shit.
Especially the bottom part is ugly, it's not organized at all, as well as the transparent image behind the information text makes it really busy.

Not really sure why I drew this. But faded sharpie > painting, for me.

I think the faded sharpie gave it a nice texture effect.
Rejected candycane poster for the Youngenterprise company I'm in...

I like it better than the one they chose but majority rules and I'm biased :smithicide:

Way too messy and vivid in colours.
Even for going for a candy colour scheme you overdid it too much.
Colours are way too contrasting towards eachother, making it a bloody mess to watch, it hurts. The background, the text and the the image are all strongly contrasted to eachother making everything something you want to look at. There is no focus. Everything is just one pile of epileptic killer... mass.
