Of course I meant evil, how can I invert picture thats already inverted, it would be like putting it back to normal.
But I suppose you try using the "similar effect" on the picture

[QUOTE=worm;26541847]current work in progress, i know the hair is horrible, i'm terrible at hair, but what else needs improvement?

I love the sort of mottled shading on the sleeves. It looks kinda watery, but it gives the impression that the material is really silky and flows naturally.
The same effect works really detrimentally on the face though. The same shading technique makes the bone structure of the face non-existent and deformed-looking.
You need to start on a bigger brush for the hair and work upwards to smaller and smaller brushes of brighter and brighter colour, also changing in hue/saturation as you go. Look at some tutorials or something. Right now it kinda looks like your hair was all done with the same sized brush.

It looks nice but I'll have to go with 3v3rb0dy when he says its fishy. It has the 'feeling' of either heavily referenced or even traced over using the colours of a photograph. I'm not saying it has or being mean but that it just gives off that feeling. For example the shading seems the sort used in photo shoots (light from all angles) and the fact that it has large amount of detail but is messy.
Yeah the colours have an air of photograph about them... like you used the colour picker directly on your reference picture or something.

IT's just something i call the vectormagic effect. But I don't know to which degree
There is nothing wrong with referencing I just don't know why people don't want to state the very fact
A work with referenced work is actually much more revered as the author has done his/her study.
Not that I'm saying that the work above is referenced, just that I have the same feeling as the others.
It is like the author has placed a lot of attention of details at first and then blurs them out intentionally.
I'm not saying don't use a reference pic, I'm saying don't use the colour picker on your reference picture because you're too lazy to work out your own colour pallet or do it by eye.
Just finished first half of my freelance work!
Who ya working for?
Some small time indie developer called Folkloregames
They have some optimistic goals and I'm just remastering their cover art digitally.
Most anticlimatic piece of work I've ever done. Piss easy but I still hate doing it.
So I'm finally writing down rules to an RPG I'm making (the pen and paper-style),and I'm curious how the hell I'm supposed to be able to show you my progress (and also ask for CC) on this thing. So far I'm down to 14 pages of text (all spaced up), counting ~4000 words.
What I've written so far is a very short introduction on how it works, what you need, the stats you're using (I'm only going to use three stats), skills (34 that are work related, 7 that every character gets) and 13 jobs (which are combined character class and race pretty much).
I guess getting a thread for this would be the best idea? :v:
I say it needs it's separate thread. It's a huge work, you know.
What's it about, regular fantasy or something different, like paranoia or something.
It's based on reality but it's been really simplified on certain aspects. The theme is zombies. The only other RPG I know that's based on zombies is All Flesh Must Be Eaten.
Intrested allready.
If it's anything good I'll need to make some friends and try it.
Haha, great! I'm going to work on the thread now and post what I've written so far.

Yeah I was joking anyway, as the cutout filter is pretty terribad most of the time.
Indeed. I just did an unrefined lineart. It worked.
Posted the thread now, it looks kinda confusing but it's sadly the best I could do. Going to wait until the next post before I post the skills.
Getting back into actually photoshopping things, made a gun, nbd:

The upper torso/kenny part is really, really bad.
It's hard to understand what shape it is cause the shading doesn't tell us anything. And the head dome must have that circular window on it, but I can't udnerstand it from the image.

i have absolutely no idea what to make of that
There's no shape definition. No shading to show the shape.
eh, youre probably right.
i still like it though, it works to me.
It'll be a while till I can use digital mediums properly for expression
