The dark shadow above the eye looks a bit strange, is it from a ref?
And it looks like it's a bit too much open, maybe bring the lower edge/lid upwards.

Wont you have to do a huge monologue of all the previous productions at the beginning? :v:
Unless your doing a production of the first episode, or maybe something completely unique.
Why not use all of these and keeping it black and white, like it is, would be nice, in my opinion..
But if you must choose one, then the first one seems nicest..
To be frank, I have no idea what they're doing, but I get the impression that they're probably just acting out the first episode, like you said.
They don't really think it's necessary to tell me these things- not that I really need the information anyway.
Humm, I was thinking of maybe using them all as well- it's not my call though.
As for the black and white, for colouring I was either going to replace the grey spots with blocked colours or the lineart itself.

The smugness works well with the title. That look makes you read the title in a particular way, that way being slightly comedic. I think that implies a lot about the nature of the production.

You should use white on some of the texts to highlight them from the rest of the yellow stuff. It's too orange right now.
