Could you give the coins ridges on the edges or something? Or a dollar sign on their faces or something like that (or the same "C" that is in the title)? Right now they sort of look like eggs.
derp

Still kinda look a bit like eggs but it's much better I think. Actually they might even look more like eggs now because your bevelled markings on the coins don't match the perspectives you have tried to create on the coins, if that makes any sense.
I added ridges now, do they look more coin-y?
[img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3609329/coin_battle_title3.jpg[/img_thumb]
Yeah it looks a lot better now I think.
for the most part it looks the same
make normal, circular coins and just use the transform tool in photoshop.
and add anti-aliasing.
I made the ridges a little bigger and made the cent sign squished, to be more turned like the coin.

Just found this on my comp

Don't think I posted it here.

Much nicer.
Yeah it's a tonne better now because the cent signs have perspective.

What about making the coins actually coin formed? More circular, less oval.

I wanted them to be turned a bit, not just perfectly round.
you are missing the 'thickness' of the coin.

[QUOTE=Failboat;26800409]First time actually drawing and painting with my tablet, had it four like nearly two years and never used it until now.
I'd appreciate if you'd ignore that its anime, nearly chibi, and just give some constructive feedback on the shadows/shading, since I have no idea if I am doing it right, and I really want to improve, since doing this was very fun. So yeah, I know that its not anatomically correct in any way, what I need help with really is the shading. Thanks in advance.

Shading on the hair is off.
The angle of the shadow is wrong.
Also, the casted shadow on the face form the hair is off.

Alright since the flat coins weren't working out, I tried something new, the 3D tool in Illustrator.

Congratulations. You made coins.
I am glad to see you cleaned the composition as well. And also didn't fiddle with the lightning and just kept it like Illustrator shaded it. Although, with that being said you should shine up the gold coins a bit.

It's a teacher at my school, so not quite.
If I were to change the hair and the facial structure a bit, as well as add thicker glasses, I could have Gordon Freeman easily.

what that's not freeman, that's the guy from Criminal Minds.
i want to do a minimalist black swan poster for a friend
lets brainstorm
what about a spotlight coming from the top onto a silhouette of a dancing black swan
but thats too simple i need something that gets across the darker themes. it could be a white swan dancing with the shadow of a black swan omg
hlep
A swan in BP oil spill :v:

I know that lol, that's obvious. I'm simply stating that I could have changed a few things and made it look like Gordon Freeman.
