Eye see you. I've recently been trying to improve my understanding of facial anatomy, I can draw faces fairly well by now, but they're never as good as I'd like them to be. I've heard doing still life drawings of skulls is a good practice method, does anyone know of a good site with a lot of reference pictures of skulls, I've been able to find pictures by searching in google but the quality is never very good and there's not a lot of variety in the lighting, angles, etc.

Just an idea, but actually garry's mod it pretty good for posing objects and then reproduce them by drawing or such.

Made a mix of the HK music theme from Deus Ex. Nowhere near finished and actually mostly experimentation. http://tindeck.com/listen/stwk

I don't know if this deserves a thread, but hey, it's cute. It's called "The Big Mac".
Fucking awesome !
Starting a new painting. Going with the skeleton first to set the anatomy right. EDIT: Huge image... scaling down, haha [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] there, smaller size.
It's still huge.
It's too big to fit in my scanner so i had to take a photo. that explains the shitty quality.
added flesh. Was thinking about have forest or something in nature to be the background, but I might end up using a park.
The eyes are huge
The eyes are huge
Yeah, I realized too. Will shrink them.
I can't help but think her right thigh is shorter than her left. [editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] 3rd hair change

Were the nipples necessary?
Always dreamed of making comics as a kid. I might be going somewhere with this but it's too early to say.

Same character, no it's not a dick either.
Oh I see it. Perhaps you should look into proportion, I mean- on the right there his head and neck takes up a third of his body.

The arms being folded kinda takes up the whole torso, so I can see how confusing it gets. And sleeves too big, I know. Just a sketch.
His waist's also thinner than his head on the left.
His waist's also thinner than his head on the left.
That's the style I'm going for, big torse, small legs, big arms.
My automerge :zoid: I hope that's a typo when you said "she" [editline]3rd January 2011[/editline] What the cabbage, twice in a row! [editline]3rd January 2011[/editline]
That's the style I'm going for, big torse, small legs, big arms.
In that case, to be frank it looks more like a failed realism attempt than an intentional proportion-morph. Have a look at Johnny Bravo: You can tell that he was designed to have those proportions. I find that going for realism first and then bending that reality in a way where it looks "right" tends to be the course for stylisation. Just a thought though. I usually just go for cylinders or some circles and sticks.
My automerge :zoid: I hope that's a typo when you said "she"
The setting takes place in a world where everyone is ugly, have a dysfunction and disfigure. This girls case, she has a hideous face, has NO MOUTH so she cannot speak, and is a jealous type that'll kill anyone she sees that comes close to looking "normal, pretty, hansom, or ok" and then slices their faces off and turns them into masks for people to wear so they can be happy. I don't know, I'm thinking of giving her a boyish personality, which is why her body looks manly.
Thanks, it's literally my second sketch of her so far. I just cannot believe that I still got some talent left in me to draw, which is why I find it very exciting and thought I'd post it for you guys to see. More comments are welcomed.
