Looks like you used a really shitty stock brush for the detail strands. Would have just been better off using a 2 or 1px hard brush on about 60% flow and opacity (or whatever feels right).

Yeah well it was more of a speedpainting, not a rendered out piece. I used a whole barrage of brushes on the hair but the stripy thing (that I actually made earlier) is probably too prominent since I just slapped it on.

I use default circular brush for everything in photoshop. I just wish that photoshop has some nice custom brush function like mudbox.

But for brushwork exept for the hair it serves as a fine example, also like the colours. Inspires me to do some digipainting as well.
