Creative Work That Doesn't Deserve A Thread V5 <Dongery Penis Edition>

I'm just saying that he shouldn't go around and say that peoples practice art just downright suck, it doesn't help anything.
I guess that's just me though. Harsh criticism doesn't dissuade me. I'm just drawing this stuff, because I enjoy doing, no matter how bad it comes out. I'm not trying to be an artist or anything, its just my own enjoyment, not to impress other people.
Then you can just ignore what he says.
It's really that easy. Why give a shit if he thinks it sucks if you think so yourself and you're not really aiming high? Just focus on his constructive critisism and don't give jack shit about what he thinks about it.
I can understand that totally but then... makes me want to ask the question: "why post it on a forum then?".
Eh... Why not?
I appreciate the CC, and I'll be sure to use it. it was him saying it "sucks balls" that put me off, because it seemed like it served no purpose than to put me down.
That's because that was it's purpose. Thus you could just completly ignore it.
I'm just saying that he shouldn't go around and say that peoples practice art just downright suck, it doesn't help anything.
If they think it doesn't suck then it helps. If they think it sucks they get it confirmed. If they think otherwise, or think the same they can also just ignore the grumpy old man. I see no problem.

It certainly doesn't make the person any more likely to take the advice. I've never insulted
someone while giving advice- but even then I come off as an asshole/pompous tit.
It's a really hard balance. People just don't want to hear your opinion if it's bad.
I know this girl (let's call her Stacey and we're friends, somehow) and any time I would even
make a small negative comment on her work she would act like "OH HOHOHOHO
HOHOHO *closes art pad and shakes head dismissively*"
Or she would defend against my comment with something like "well I can't be bothered, I'm too lazy to do that".
Even to the point in butting into my giving advice to other people like when I told my friend to use a reference
she just snidely said sighing in exasperation *Just let people do their own thing"
As if using a reference would burden her "artistic creativity". Stacey also said once "I hate progress"
when defending her views on Mankind ruining the world and such forth. I've just given up on telling her that
the humans she draws without reference look completely out of proportion. Some people just don't want to
take criticism. Oh and this is for Alevel art here.
Oh and this is for Alevel art here.
Goes without saying.
Just making it clear, I really really hope no one like that exists at the art university I get in to.

It's cute that you hope that but... well... ya know.
Man, I wish I could just tell her that her stuff looks crap but then she'd go and have
a mental breakdown or something like that... actually, she'd probably just brush me off.

I think I sound like this when I'm criticising:

Pretty ironic that this whole conversation happened after what I previously posted.
Heh.
Gave this style a try, just for fun.

No reference used, again..
And I kinda gave up on the guy eating the sausage halfway through, but decided to upload anyway.
The positioning of the zombie shadows doesn't change relative to the depth of the characters and the wall. The lack of this shift is a little confusing on the eyes.

Not to mention that the extremely crisp shadows means there is a spotlight directly aimed at the zombies, but there is no direct light source aimed at anything in the image at all.
Blur those shadows a bit and work out a light source so that you can place the shadows accordingly.
I assume they're hella crisp for stylistic reasons or something... but yeah it does look weirdly uncanny, like the shadows are spirits or something like that.
Yup I cannot into shadows.
Nothing new there

Another wallpaper I spent 5 hours on. I'm not good so that's why it took me so long. I really do try with what I do so if it sucks, just tell me. I hope I just get better over time as I keep making them

Grears?
Grears?
Of sorts. I do not really know why, I just sketch stuff out and look for what is closest to what I've seen in my head.
Five hours on that? I couldn't personally see it taking five hours but it may have taken you that long to make the various decisions. I had a feeling you didn't know what you were going for and were messing around until you decided on something. It looks like various colored brushes just layered on top of each other with a cloud brush in the background. It's very messy and has a very negative spaced composition.
You spelled gears wrong. Good lord.

Got it...spell check from now on.
I'm not even mad about it. I WANT you to do better. My wing is here
I want you under my wing. Not my wing man, you don't get that honor.

Go ahead and add me on Steam if you want...someone already tried talking my out of brushes.
I will not add you on steam. Only my friends go on steam.
just keep in touch with me here or see my profile for my email
someone already tried talking my out of brushes.
no offense but why didn't you listen the first time
no offense but why didn't you listen the first time
For my own reasons, you may not like them. You may find them retarded and they just might be. But they're my retarded reasons and that is why I love them.
And because in the end, I'm starting from scratch without a tablet. Not editing an image that's already been posed, I know brushes have their limits but so does everything else. I'll use them up to that limit and try to push it because that's all I can do with my skills. Everything else I've learned seems to create something anew, not create something new and that is what is demanded from me inside my head. In the end, the wallpapers I create are not to inspire others but to silence what keeps me up at night.
P.S. I'm fairly certain that bullshit will be called on me along with lazy, unimaginative, and etc....
Oh good, for a minute I was worried that you forgot that add that part to your post.
God forbid you forget to offer constructive criticism without bashing some one's artistic ability.
sorry, was talking about mine.
[editline]16th January 2011[/editline]

Started another spaceship. GEneral design is okay but itlooks horrid so gon rework it later

The material looks really soft and gooey and everything is rather blurry in general.

The contrast is too low on the spaceship, and the colors don't exacly match. Also you shouldn't blur out the planet it doesn't look right.
[editline]16th January 2011[/editline]
You should never actually blur your drawings. never
Planet's nowhere near done and it's unchange since last update and I'm going to remake that spacecarft but I'll keep the palette change in mind
