When I sleep I hear you in my dreams,
you distance always saddens me.
Makes me feel dead inside,
like someone you'll never get to see.
It makes me stop what I'm doing,
and think about how wonderful you are.
And think of the times I want together,
but right now we are so far.
I have pain for you in this heart of mine,
for the time I must do.
I can't wait till the day we are reunited,
live forevormore true.
No more opression of everyday life,
no time to hate.
Time that we can share and cherish,
and ultimatly relate.
I spent some time with photoshop and did this idea I've had in my head for some time.

I think It's pretty good for a sketch without a tablet.
First off, don't try to draw on the PC with a mouse. Use a tablet, or draw traditionally with a pencil. (which I would recommend in this case)
Also, you clearly didn't use any kind of reference. Try to google some references.
Next up, there is no depth. It's flat. The trigger isn't even a trigger, just a random smosh. And why is it so dirty? It has blood everywhere and I can see a mix of steel and wood in the texture?
And lastly
It's obrez.
Hey what the hell, that's an actual gun.

Then I take most of my post back, but still.
It seems to be a mix of remmington and mauser, but the ergonomics seem horrible and it seems to be made of paper, and supressor is absolutely useless.
If yoou gon draw with computer use vector technique. It works well with mouse.

This is a haiku
This has an extra syllable
Not a good haiku
:downs:
An haiku
can't recall
exact number of stuff
in those haikus
I wrote a haiku
I read it and said achoo
'Llergic to haiku
I know these are old, but I just remembered them. I used to draw stuff in Flash.
So yeah, here's some of my traces. The newest are first, oldest last.

quite good work with gradients.
I know they're traces, but it's still semi-impressive. The second one looks like a photo in the thumbnail.
But yeah... traces.
vector trace is moral.
i dunno shit about flash

Don't be fooled. Car paint is a mothereffing pain in the ass to do right.
I use photoshop for vector tracing too.
Much more blending, texture, filter, and etc. techniques in Photoshop.

That's what you're supposed to. Either that or Illustrator. Problem is though, I have no clue on how to use it. And I'd like to be able to do it the same way as in Flash.
This is the technique I use

Well, thanks for the cc. I couldn't use my dad's tablet because he's at work, and I made it dirty since it's supposed to post-apocalyptic, but maybe using the sponge wasn't a good idea. The "blood" is supposed to be rust, I'll make it a little more orange next time. I also used a reference.

Back to the Ps I guess :sax:
My lineart is always vectorized in Photoshop.
like this one:

I prefer the pen tool.
I hate the interface of illustrator, to be honest.
Illustrator is just Photoshop with fewer functions to me...
Perhaps I will record how I vectorize a sketch sometimes.
Finally got back to this after being swamped with coursework, essays and portfolio stuff:

Floating leather jacket of doom.
Dude on the left is all blurry because he is 200% upscaled while I work on the dude on the right (the WiP shot is shown at 50% of my working size).
You should bring up lighting, shading, and contrast out more.
It looks flat.
His shirt still seems a bit 'flat'.

I HATE colour composition...

On the whole piece or just the jacket update?

I'll assume the whole piece then :v:
Haha thanks.
The further castle stuff looks awesome.
Liking the further castle stuff as well, but the half done front is throwing my attention off :(
Looking forward to see it finished.
Let's just close this thread down.
