Well unless you're high the 90% of the time, I'd say it's not the real you that is artistic, and it's the drugs.
i'm not gonna bother. you can't convince facepunch something they're so much against.

It makes you look like a giant douche when you say you were high when making it, it becomes, whether it was intentional or not, just a way of saying "Hey guys! Look, I do drugs! Woah! And I drew this mindblowing shit too! MAN I WAS FUCKED UP!".

It's not possible to not be the real you. Drugs will only make some parts of you stronger and other parts weaker, it's still you, it's still from your brain, it's not magic you're putting into your system, it's all from your own creativity. Drugs can just work as a technique to dig out some of your creativity the same way alcohol makes you more socialable. A lot of people say it's okay to drink because it makes you more easy going and talkaktive, yet they're completely against drugs, even of the not harmful kind.
I personally don't drink, nor would I ever smoke or take drugs. But I'd rather see someone do drugs than drink and/or smoke. I'm not really for drug influenced art either, but I won't diss on it just because it was made on drugs, diss the creator, not the art, because they are two seperate things. I like a lot of old songs, but I don't like how they were made.

Well, if you've come up with your own set of formulas and only re-hash them, then I can agree.
But otherwise it takes A LOT of work to make a real and complex fractal. Not just random colour splatters all over the place, but real constructions, scenery with depth of field and such things.

I made this ages ago for the TF2 propoganda contest and forgot about it. It took me a while to make the soldier, especially in that style.

It's really well done. How were the scratches accomplished? Just a brush?
Yep. All the scratches and splotches are brushes, and for the soldier I took a screenshot in-game while taunting, then straced over it in illustrator with black, then drew the highlights with the pen tool.
It took more time figuring out where to place the highlights and how to shape them, because the source engine doesn't have very defined shadows to trace over.

The glow doesn't look very realistic. I'm recommending making rest of the buildings before adding much effects.
