Amazing sketch, but does it really matter how long it took you to complete it?
To some extent it shows the skill level of the artist.

What matters is what you can do, not how long it takes you to do it.
I realize it's always cool to do a good job and do it quickly, but I'd appreciate a piece of art that took 2 years to complete even if it took someone else 30 minutes to complete so long as it was done well. I'm not picking on him, I think it's amazing that he could do that in said amount of time, I was just pointing out.
just to excuse me being sloppy at places.

Its goddamn hard to get [del]hands[/del] anything looking right-ish when drawing little shit.
the hands are too long, the left palm is too big.
And fingers
I'm working on a darwin sprite for a game I'm doing, just finished the head. This is the first sprite I've made that I consider halfway good.

god damn you had a fucking grid and you still can't pull a single cleftin' straight line. Would've atleast improvised a ruler or some shit.
I know you prolly weren't aware of it, but look up air perspective.

And that's not minecraft that's just hellot of plain cubes. Minecraft had stuff like wood, dirt and grass and glass and such. You must've been only playing the early alpha version or some shit.
[editline]07:17PM[/editline]
Also shadows.

If results are identical, I'd hire the man that took 30 minutes to complete because he's obviously the better artist. In the real world the amount of time it takes you to finish a drawing is very important.
This is why I hate graph paper I always end up drawing cubes and shit.

I hate this skewed incorrect 3d isomorphic perspective.
Wrong:

Your wrong looks nothing like his. Your wrong is a wide rectangle, his squares are squares.
He did it right, you need to learn about perspective because you can see a block from many places and thus it will look different.
it was intended as isometric. Your 'right' was a 3-point perspective. :raise:

Aparrotly I forgot about this one.
SEe I was bored at this party, and there were trains.
Get it?
it's funny cause he has a train for... face...
That must have been a pretty shitty party if the best thing to do was whip out a pad :v:

Are the toes the wrong way on purpose?

My point was, if that were reality then the shape would be a diamond not a cube.

Going to have to disagree with you.
it was intended as isometric. Your 'right' was a 3-point perspective. :raise:
Isometric uses diagonal planes though. 3-point perspective has perspective doesnt it? So It would be getting smaller towards the back.
If a cube was face on, parallel to the ground (like the minecraft pic), then you would only be able to see two faces of it (including the front).
Guys, you only have to google this and READ posts CORRECTLY.
At no point did the original artist say what type of isomorphism it is done in.
With art there is no wrong or right way.

This is a correct enough description of isometric drawing. BUT Isometic does not have perspective.
So It would be getting smaller towards the back.
This bit is incorrrect.

This is not isometric this is a realistic view of a cube.
Not the right or wrong way of doing isomorphism
I hate this skewed incorrect 3d isomorphic perspective.
But if you had read this people you would have seen its just an opinion, as to which method he prefers.

I meant 3-point perspective has perspective, to my knowledge anyway.

Yeah, it was my opinion, now I'm just caught up in explaining exactly what I meant by 'skewed perspective'.
Not trying to be a dick, I just figured people would know what I meant.
If you handed a design into a professional with that minecraft picture perspective then I don't think they would be best pleased.
It's not 3-point perspective
