You're wrong
If I understand this correct, the guy was drawing minecraft stuff. Which means he was drawing perfect cubes. Which again means each side has the same length and width. To me it looks like he tried to make it in perspective, but totally failed, seeing the front "wall" of each square is the same size as the back "wall". Which makes no sense if it is in perspective. The back should be smaller. So if he was trying to make it in perspective, he failed, and Mr. Cyanide is correct. Though I did not draw it so I do not know if he tried to make a proper perspective or not. If he wasn't trying to make a proper perspective, then this discussion is pointless and can be dropped now. Fin.
Made some good progress with the cards now: I've gone through and gotten rid of all the typos and changed around some abilities so they are more 'open' to work with any cards people want to make which I think is a plus over the old ones that were like "can only work with this and that". Added the Forum type card which joins the ranks of Member, Post and Rating cards. Brought in cards that didn't make it into the old Orion deck by replacing the TF2 ones of mine (which are going to be an expansion set). To do list: -Cut out the cards from 52 pages and beta test the current rules -Finalise the new playing mat concept -Remake the old rulebook -Heavily alter ScopE5000 original card-making walkthrough with examples Excuse the shitty photo, can't rip the photo from my phone and the in-built webcam won't bend over.
I meant 3-point perspective has perspective, to my knowledge anyway. Yeah, it was my opinion, now I'm just caught up in explaining exactly what I meant by 'skewed perspective'. Not trying to be a dick, I just figured people would know what I meant. If you handed a design into a professional with that minecraft picture perspective then I don't think they would be best pleased.
don't backpedal he was not drawing in any point perspective. his drawing is isometric yes this is a real thing. yes it is really used. no there's nothing 'wrong with it'. yes, you were wrong when you corrected him. yes you're making shit up now. why correct something that's correct? you can't say you're annoyed because it's not realistic - it's an isometric drawing that's what it is you can't argue anything against that, it's just what it is. [editline]09:37PM[/editline] if you handed it to a designer they would say 'your shading needs work, but this is indeed an isometric image. there's no arguing that.', i have no idea what you're trying to prove. [editline]09:38PM[/editline]
I hate this skewed incorrect 3d isomorphic perspective. Wrong: Right :
please see your post again the first image is an isometric cube. which is what he drew. the second is not. it's just a random 3d angle from what i can tell. please see how there is no rescuing your argument, you were wrong plain and simple. you can't redefine what isometric is, and you said something that was isometric, was not isometric. and then something that was not isometric, was isometric. therein lies your mistake. i'm sick of you trying to bs out of this. face the facts.
(I didn't say he was drawing point perspective, read what I was replying to first.) He didnt draw a proper isometric cube, how can you not understand this? His picture is just squares set back from one another connected with diagonal lines. 'Isometric projection is a method for visually representing three-dimensional objects in two dimensions in technical and engineering drawings. It is an axonometric projection in which the three coordinate axes appear equally foreshortened and the angles between any two of them are 120 degrees.' 'This is not, strictly speaking, an actual cube. However, it does look like a cube - this method works if you are drawing a picture or doing an elementary level of math.' It's simply a cuboid. Hope that clears up what I was trying to say.
The only things I can paint properly are birds, so I thought i'd be a bit creative by not using watercolours in the conventional way. The last one is kinda duff, but what the hell. What do people think?

What do people think?
Nice! I actually like the last one best for it's colours. I do like the way you textured it, did you use gouache? Though on the first one, I doubt that bird's beak is blue... For next time, I would invest in a watercolour pencil to outline (if you have to) before you paint because you seem to have some lead pencil lines in the last painting and smeared lead can ruin a painting. Also, I would choose maybe some more dynamic poses (ie, not jsut side on)- if you can't think of any do a google search for a reference. I do love your bold colours, perhaps you could consider using a defined light source and change the vibrant colours in accordance for a more stiking effect as well as widening your colour range in each image. Also, bird feathers look really beautiful in the sunlight. [img_thumb]http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6I3WRX0Y5Dw/S_gKcE7FTrI/AAAAAAAAAzY/frjujdbqo0Q/s1600/DSCN5798.JPG[/img_thumb] Painting those feathers would be a great exercise in colour. Also, try to be more confident in your brush strokes as they seem quite raggedy in those free lines in your first image.

Those feathers are beautiful, i'll give them a try. They're all in watercolour, I based the first one (with the blue beak!) on a painting I found on the internet, hence why I made the beak blue, and it had been painted using pointillisn. I don't know what it had been painted in, but I liked the style so I tried to copy it. Watercolours are my favourite so I used them. They're suprisingly effective, bearing in mind that normally they're the last thing you'd think of using for pointillism! Your right about the lines, each of those took me around 10-20 mins to do at a time, so they're sort of like a watercolour version of a 'quick sketch', hence why I didn't bother using anything fancy. I haven't painted anything properly in a while, I should really invest in some nice bits and pieces. I really need to get my own set of paints! Most of what I have got I.. 'borrowed permanently' from college and the watercolours are my dads. When I do get my own i'll get some with more shades. You've inspired me to make an effort again, thanks!
A little doodle image that I add to Guy's forehead is too small, also the shooting guy's right leg is too thick
good thing you realize your own mistakes, it means you are a good artist and constantly improving your self.
i finally actually vectored that ash (previous was just from a scan of the australian cover)
Some Homestuck artwork I made today.
Won a free blank toy in a contest so I decided I'd just kinda dick around with it since I'd never used the platform before. Here's what I started with: Here's how it ended up: I'm really proud of how the tongue turned out, and I plan on doing some more with the eyes.

So it's been a while since I last made a decent sketch, and I decided to practice my anatomy and perspectives, so this came out: [img_thumb]http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/2987/photo0003y.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]12:17PM[/editline] also the soldier's crocket

I really like the angle though.
this isn't actually a skull, just some sort of mask, and yeah, I need to try using references and basic geometry, I made this thing from scratch. [editline]02:10PM[/editline] (AKA no initial skeleton, no basic body parts, just this)
Made a retro-futuristic picture using a photo of space. The original photo wasn't great quality so the final isn't either.
