Watercolor! :buddy:
Nice concept, made me smile, but The quality is very bad It took me 10 seconds to realize it.
I know, that's just the roughwork anyway. I'm almost finished the big thing.
It's nice, but I like the one that this guy did some time ago, I think it was a set of people in reversed situations.

It's not even a concept, it's a copy.
It's interesting to see how digital colouring can improve a poorly proportioned and generally crude sketch.
No it can not. You have a general grasp how to do faces but everything thats tarts at neck, you go fuckall and just slap something on it. Human bodies are round and they actually kind-of go around the ribcage.
You could've expressed roundness if you weren't so lazy with the colouring.
It's overall horribly misproportioned and seems like he's a midget who swallowed a giants clothanger or some shit.
Read through tutorials on human anatomy and proportions and then do some practise on poses found on internets. Should help you heaps.
what?
I still need critique o my Digital remake, not about it being digital (although that would be useful), but since I made the original picture much more High def, so you can see all the details.
I don't want to. I'm waiting you to do something more advanced.
Something I made not too long ago

I drew this as an experiment with colour and patterns for my yearly major work.
I used fine-liner pens and watercolour.
It's originally A3, but I copied it down to A4 then scanned it.
Maybe I should use this in photoshop. After finals exams.
Amazing, you've gotta vector this.

I did, but I ain't posting it until I get a decent scanner (which dad won't buy me :saddowns:)
Taking a photo of your drawing works almost as well.
To be honest, scans of too high a quality don't properly represent what you would see with your eyes if you were to see the drawing in person.

Yep, it's Alex Mercer. And yeah, I know, he looks too happy (and the hood looks like shit, oh well)
[editline]07:22PM[/editline]

Fuck this I'm going to space.
I like the hand sketch but Mercer's face looks like a really stylised cartoon of a neanderthal (or, failing that, Sylvester Stallone)... the flatness and exaggerated manliness of the face looks unnatural and somewhat creepy, even if it is supposed to be stylised.

The problem is that my phone has a nasty tendency of turning my drawings yellow-ish... I'll try to think of something since my baby brother ruined Dad's digital camera.
Open the picture up in Photoshop and mess with the colours/saturation.

WiP

Messed around with it in GIMP, never tried that before...
anyway here it is:

If the quality is still shit it's because of my shakey hand when I took the picture.
It's not even a concept, it's a copy.
Yeah it is. He seems to have completely abandoned doing that cartoony stuff though, which is a shame.

Reminds me of Nigel Thornberry for some reason.
okay bitches. is your body ready?
i should probably get a sketchbook that doesnt have lines. ANYWAYS. i give you (1) POWER GIRL: also known as Karen Starr, also known as maybe an alternate universe version of Supergirl or maybe an atlantean or something, depending on which canon you're following today. EITHER WAY.

originally she was gonna be saying "big, huh?" in re: her bicep, but i decided "naaaaaaaah thats kinda lame."
and i give you (2) a flapper. she's also naked. why not!

I BET YOUR MONITOR JUST MELTED BECAUSE OF HOW GOOD THESE BOTH ARE, RIGHT?
or maybe the images aren't posting. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
okay never mind i think i got it (fingers cross'd)
[editline]12:45AM[/editline]
yep! there we go.
To be honest they're awful.
[editline]06:53AM[/editline]
A lot of proportions are off, especially at the breasts, and you are over exaggerating so much about them, it made them even worse to me.

power girl's supposed to have giant tits stupid. its the only part of her character.
[editline]12:59AM[/editline]
but yeah on the second one they got a little out of hand.
power girl's supposed to have giant tits stupid.
They're still off to the right.
ever heard of shes not looking straight at you so of course they are?
plus power girl's pretty jacked. so she's got plenty of back muscles back there.
Her proportions are still off. I mean look at both of their feet, they're fucking tiny and your hero girl's forearms are shrunken. Also, her boobs may "have to be" big, but the way you have them drawn here is all wrong, they're not connecting to the shoulder muscle where they're supposed to, and they're all squareish.

If you're going to distort proportions, do it more obviously. For example, the works of Australian artist, Del Kathryn Barton.
Right now, it seems as though you attempted to do a correctly proportioned drawing.
Which came out all wrong.
Her head is too large, her hands are too small, so are her feet.
Hands span the length of the face and feet span the length of the forearm.
Also, I'm pretty sure a belly button isn't exactly aligned to the incline in her waist.
It's lower.
She seems to be missing a few ribs too.
But other than the proportions, the characters are okay.
Could anyone offer a critique on my WiP? I am determined to get this right.

see now this is actually useful
i had a feeling though that the hands/feet were too small. drawing is hard, man.
[editline]09:07AM[/editline]
nevertheless, that shits easily fixed in the future. also, i wasnt exactly going for 100% realism or anything like that, so the head being bigger than it should is no big deal. also, why would i look up del kathryn barton? thats like the opposite of anything i would ever want.
but anyway, thanks! im always looking to improve myself and it helps to hear criticism other than "it sucks, i dont like it."

Harsh critiques please! Rip this to shreds.
Or, failing that, tell me how amazing it is.
... expecting more of the former.
Is it me or is this thread suddenly boring?
i dont think thats how nostrils work. and her hair looks like she hasnt showered in weeks
other than that its better than anything i could muster!
also maybe its just me but her eyes seem to be facing two different directions

Her left wrist almost looks like it lacks bone structure. Maybe give the nose more contrast, doesn't really seem to pop out from the face at the moment. Otherwise I like it but it lacks the charm of a painting.
Also the coat is like one big black mass, that might just be my monitor but I think it needs more light on it.

it's just you
