Got bored. (not a painting btw) [img]http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/302/a/a/dusk_on_silent_canvas_by_xephio-d31r1kf.jpg[/img]
[QUOTE=Applecrap;25723101]Did I ever say I was trying to draw beauty?[/QUOTE] well no... but why ARE you drawing that?
[QUOTE=Barnhouse;25731702]well no... but why ARE you drawing that?[/QUOTE] If he does it well enough he'll have a good pornographic image to masturbate to whilst boosting his ego knowing he made it and it makes him damn proud and increases the sexyness of it.
[QUOTE=dgg;25732044]If he does it well enough he'll have a good pornographic image to masturbate to whilst boosting his ego knowing he made it and it makes him damn proud and increases the sexyness of it.[/QUOTE] True, True.
[QUOTE=Barnhouse;25731702]well no... but why ARE you drawing that?[/QUOTE] Training?
[QUOTE=Barnhouse;25722753]What's the point in drawing an image like that? Just seems so vulgar to me, not beautiful at all.[/QUOTE] What part about "art is subjective" don't you understand.
I came here looking for neither praise nor condemnation, thank you. Anyone actually want to comment on the quality? Here, maybe this will help: [media]http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/5896/part1i.png[/media]
Well I had a tactical over it.
[QUOTE=Applecrap;25722392]NSFWip here. [media]http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/677/part1hn.png[/media] It's based off a reference picture. [editline]29th October 2010[/editline] Fucking editing and advanced mode fucks the BBcode up.[/QUOTE] Human anatomy is hardest to get right since everyone will notice if you get something even slightly wrong, especially when your subject is in her birthday suit so this may seem very negative but don't be disheartened, your drawing's pretty good overall, there are just some areas we need to tighten up. You have some obvious anatomical errors going on: The lady on the right's head is too wide and her nose and lower face in gneral is too low down in comparison to her forehead. The woman on the right's left side (our left) slopes in too far at the waist, it looks unnatural. Her jaw is too long for where you've placed it on her head, you can move the lower mouth and the end of the jaw to the left a bit because it looks like she has a large underbite. She also looks like she's making duck lips, a little too long in the middle for a pout, her nose also looks flat because the nostril is so close to the edge. Her labia kind of look like someone taped a fat, uncooked sausage on her groin and sliced it open. Or a diaper. In otherwords it sticks out too much and the line protruding from under it makes the whole thing look like a penis rather than labia... unless you're drawing one of those trap fellows. Her innards also look like spaghetti compared to the rest of her skin tone. As for skin tones, I would stay away from using gray to shade, it makes skin look kind of dead. You seem to use your colours very lightly, don't be afraid to use more bold colours; you'd be surprised at the odd colours skin contains. Instead use a plum-ey purple colour and an orange shade to make certain areas more intense (which I note you've started doing n around her arsehole) Oh and I would also avoid painting on a pure, bright white background: unless you've layed down an opaque base colour, it tends to water down your hues, it also makes looking at your painting for long periods of time quite jarring on the eyes. [url=http://www.furiae.com/popup.php?text=skintutorial]This tutorial[/url] sums it up pretty well. Sorry about the wall of text.
I have a piece I wrote down during class, and then copied to my computer. I would like some strict criticism with it, for I need to fix mistakes I may not notice on my own, such as readability. [quote] There was a very startling accident; so much so, I could hear it from my humble abode, which is, a rough estimate, about five hundred feet away from the intersection. I knew it was an accident, and had never seen one personally, so I dressed myself, thrust my shoes on to my feet, tying the laces with an ecstatic rush, barged out my door, hurried across into my neighbor’s yard, leaping across a shallow creek that defends the neighbors back lawn from the protrusion of earth across the way, climbing hurriedly up the slant, which is about a seventy degree angle, with a fifty foot climb, and ran through the brush. I came onto a place where I had to ease myself across, or risk slipping down a very impeding drop. After maneuvering the ledge, it spread out into a flat, vast, vacant area, splattered with rock eroded away from the topmost ledge, which is only fifteen feet high. I edge myself closer to the intersection view, lying down and crawling so not to be seen, and lay right at the very front of a show I was thrilled to see. I don’t remember the model car; for this was a very long time ago, and my memory of the predicament is blurry at best. The intersection only had three lanes; a tiny road leading into a major highway, which caused this intersection. There were only a couple of traffic lights, blinking bright yellow to signal that consumers need to yield, though I never remember anyone doing as such. There was a lot of traffic, piled into columns stretching past my vision in all three directions – the audience for today’s performance- with the main actors’ performance coming up, with the main guest present. Leering on the wreckage led me to see a startling sight. One car must have tried to turn, when a very husky truck veered from the highway into its driver side. Both cars had damage surpassing the mark of repair, but I assume that was only the worry of the truck, whose operator was make a very believable performance as an angered rural man, who cries and screaming of anger forced much tobacco spit from his mouth and onto his chin, shirt and the ground below him. It wasn’t until he spied the wreckage next to him that he calmed slightly, still stewing in his anger, but only in an unnoticeable way. What this rural actor had noticed was the other car of the evening, a more rememberable vehicle that has come upon me as being red. The prop was severely malformed, the door bent at such angles that it would later take three crowbars to pry the door off. The person in the seat reflected the door, whose face was lying down in the inflated air bag, immobile; this must be a particular flair of this performer. A black mark leads from the tires of the vehicle to a distance of fifty feet away, the presumed beginning of the accident. A shattered front windshield, plastered with a gigantic spider’s web laced across, was only slightly visible, but my focus was on the protagonist, whose resounding performance continued. The contents of the trunk had burst from the back, many tools, such as hammers, scatters of nails, and bits of lumber left over from a recent building site are strewn across the highway. No one really did anything. The audience were simply flabbergasted by the show, or were talking to others about it’s marvelous outcome, telling them how they’ve “known him for years” or “seen him around”. Family issues come about. Income, funeral costs, will and testament. People slide past the accident, slowly driving past the broken glass, through the wreckage, maneuvering the shrapnel of this fierce scene. I never saw the people in the cars, they never saw me, but I remember them more than anyone. Emergency vehicle roared up the road, influencing me to scatter. I rush over to the thin ledge, which seems to be smaller now, as I run for the steep drop, with a little more fear. [/quote] Thank you.

And we're on page 69. Coincidence?

(I sent this to 3v3ryb0dy, but I don't have too much patience, so I'll ask here too) Here's the story; I've never been to an art class, drawing school or - honestly really drawn much at all. BUT I'd love to get started with it. NOW, one of the first things I'm doing is painting some goat thing in Photoshop. It'd be great if someone helped me correct the first sketching lines before I started coloring. I'd love it if someone took time to correct my anatomy/anything really, preferably without being an ass. Not that you're likely to be one, but I'd love to be encouraged rather than discouraged. What I've got currently is pretty awful, but with a bit of help hopefully I'll be on the right track in no time; [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1467131/Goatism.png[/img_thumb] EDIT: I started on the Goat and the sky - some helpful tips on that too would be great; [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1467131/Goatism2.png[/img_thumb]
The goat is wearing glasses.
And soon a bandoleer and a dog tag.

It'd be easier to tweak your lines with the same reference you used. If not, props to you, I can't draw any animal without a reference. And honestly, it doesn't look like it needs much if any tweaking at all. As for colouring the clouds, here's a good tutorial: [img_thumb]http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/028/9/3/Another_cloud_tutorial_by_mirchiz.jpg[/img_thumb] You might want to find a reference for the colours, mainly the edges shouldn't be so sharp all the time.
It's all out of my mind, no reference. But, great. :v: Also, thanks for the cloud tutorial. EDIT: Drew a little more, still heavily WIP: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1467131/Goatism5.png[/img_thumb] Gonna change the clouds soon.
