Something I made for the good old people at the Minecraft thread. (I just got Minecraft a few days ago.)

Taken with a shitty iphone but I was tired of throwing bowls (that bowl in the picture was perfect until I smashed it with the side of my hand in my furious sculpting of the old man) so I proved my classmate wrong who implied that I could only do geometric sculptures (and her claim to fame is her people and faces) and I sat down and in 35 minutes turned out that life sized old man bust, I really like the rough look of it and that goes with the dynamic process of sculpting him. I achieved what I wanted, making a exaggerated yet still accurate face that had some "life" to it. I've got a few things to do like touch up the ears, give some more exaggeration to the forehead wrinkles but yeah, I think I'm going to make a series of them.

So this is the birthday present I've been working on for my friend all week. Besides the shitty feathers on the right, my lack of shading-highlight understanding and the shitty tunic, all of which I'm aware of, what else have I completely fucked up on here?
Waist/chest proportions and placement looks kind of weird. Belts are heavy so should sit against the figure, currently he has a very short torso and a massive ass.
Also, his sword hand looks strange.
He's not gripping the sword properly, the thumb should be wrapped around the grip and only halfway visible from that perspective. Also, dat hips.
Take it up with the original artist :V

I never put it on my shirt. I was bored, I pulled a quote I liked and fiddled with photoshopped. I'm sorry it ruffled your jimmies so hard though, hopefully they'll recover.

Unoriginal drawing that you are copying. Instead maybe you shoudl've gotten a print of the real artist?
Maybe I would rather have put effort into a gift? You're missing the fact that King Tryn is like an in-joke between us. I'm the one who suggested I draw him and my friend was incredibly excited. Seriously Pespi, I haven't done anything wrong. Turn your efforts onto someone who actually deserves it.

Well, it is a different layer.
besides that kind of neck movement is impossible, especially for batman considering the comic batman and batman begins batman has his neckpiece attached to his suit, limiting his head movement. not to mention his head cranked that far back looks impossible

no i see you hadn't drawn the body because in yours it looks like he is jumping down somewhere head first but now i see you're tracing this picture so i dunno

Actually, I didn't trace it. But I did look at it pretty carefully. :\

I'm trying to get the hand of colouring and shading, this is more of teaching myself on how to use different brushes and such. I'm not even gonna be using this for anything but for the purpose of that and I don't see a problem with that.
