Oh hey that's the exact course I'm doing. Unless you're going on a postgraduate course that is
Undergraduate. Couple friends already go there. Funny story, I went a few months back for the interview: one of the other applicants actually recognised me as Hexxeh. Small world, eh?
Anyone applying for physics at Glasgow uni?
Undergraduate. Couple friends already go there. Funny story, I went a few months back for the interview: one of the other applicants actually recognised me as Hexxeh. Small world, eh?
I don't know what I'd do if I thought I saw someone from facepunch in real life. I'd want to say hi, but there's the overwhelming risk of looking like a complete dipshit if you're mistaken.
I'm going to be applying end of this year/early next year (currently in Lower Sixth) for Uni. Lots of open days for me in the coming months :v:. Good luck to all of you this year.
Lets hope you guys don't get the high fees they plan on putting on
Lets hope you guys don't get the high fees they plan on putting on
Nobody applying in the current year will have to pay the increase fees. Everyone applying next year probably will.
Ive got a 2 year Interactive media college course ahead of me before I even think about university, I'll most likely be taking a web design course at Teesside University though.
Lets hope you guys don't get the high fees they plan on putting on
Those taking deferred entry to next year (like I was until I got it changed to entry this year) and those applying next year will get the higher fees, whereas those in entry for 2011 will get the lower, old fees, thank fuck.

Oh cool, but still isnt there a chance that people applying will have to pay them next year when they re-register with the university? I don't really know much about it just some friends were talking about it
I didn't apply :smith: I just wouldn't be able to get enough points given the course I am on has work I didn't really like doing and I don't have a good portfolio. Applying for a Foundation Art Course and then seeing if Uni would be an option next year.
Oh cool, but still isnt there a chance that people applying will have to pay them next year when they re-register with the university? I don't really know much about it just some friends were talking about it
Simply put, if you're going to university in 2011, you won't pay higher fees. If you're going after this year, you'll have to pay the higher fees.

am i too late to apply i'm 23 so a mature student with shit alevels.
am i too late to apply i'm 23 so a mature student with shit alevels.
30, 28 and 25 year olds in my last course along with 18 year olds and the like. What would you want to do?
If you fail to get into your first two choices don't give up, you're guaranteed to get a place through clearing if you call up asap. I was gutted last year when I didn't make my choices (I made the grades, but they still turned me down due to over subbing) but I got onto the phone as soon as I got my results and got a great place at my third choice, got my accommodation and loans all sorted really easily. Basically if you don't get your choices, first thing to do would be to call your choices and see if there's a similar course you can join and failing that bring up the university comparison charts and get ringing as soon as you can to get a placement. I was seriously considering not going when I didn't get my choices, but after getting into my current uni i'm so so happy I didn't. Another year in college would be hell, and i'm extremely pleased with my current university more so than I was with my choices.

I already have my exam results so I can look into clearing asap should it come down to that. Shall keep your advice in mind, good to hear your pleased with it!
Really don't know what to do with my life in terms of Uni and whatnot. Because of my school year I'll have to pay higher fees although that's not really a problem. Still got another eighteen months to sort it out.
I personally had a nightmarish experience with UCAS. I found the communication between my prospective choices and the organization to be abhorrent. Maybe I just had a bad experience. In my first year of Uni, studying Renewable Energy Technologies in Newcastle.
I know it's doesn't really count now, but I'm here at Plymouth (first year). If you're thinking of coming to Plymouth give me a PM, I'm happy to have a chat and even give you a tour if you want. [editline]9th February 2011[/editline] Oh, and UCAS is a right bugger. So much unnecessary hassle.
2nd Year Lancaster undergrad, i'm doing PPE and if you want to ask anything in particular feel free. UCAS is important but don't get to stressed if your choices don't work out, get through clearing and you'll end up somewhere good, if it doesn't work out you can defer, but you'll pay higher fees.
I'm really hoping to not have to do Clearing, my heart is set on this course at this Uni.
Art & Design Foundation Course, Brighton University.
Got two offers, one from Royal Holloway and another from the UCA in maidstone. Got two interviews for Norwich and Westminster. Anyone else want to go study in the area of film?
I only applied to 2 Universities but with 5 choices :v:. Got all 5 offers back after 7 days, accepted BSc Ocean Science at Plymouth University as my firm and the Extended Science foundation year as my insurance, also at Plymouth. So excited for it, i'm going no matter what my grades now because of the insurance choice. SQUEEEEEE
I'm really hoping to not have to do Clearing, my heart is set on this course at this Uni.
you shoulda applied to one my unis... we coulda been pals...
I'd want to say hi, but there's the overwhelming risk of looking like a complete dipshit if you're mistaken.
to be honest you'd probably look like a complete dipshit even if you got it right [editline]9th February 2011[/editline] all this talk of ucas makes me worried even though I don't even have to do it for 2 years :ohdear:
Anyone applying to Futureworks? I know my interview with them won't be until March at the earliest but me and my mate are getting a little worried that it's our first choice and they haven't gotten back to either of us (except from a letter weeks ago saying "yeh we haven't forgotten about you, just keep waiting").
Applying to do Physics, got offers from Leeds Sheffield and Warwick, rejected from Cambridge and not heard back from Bristol. Hopefully going to Warwick
Come to Nottingham; it's awesome here :buddy:
