THANKS FOR THE SPOILER
JASON Also, the scizzors are the best choice. Least pain, quickest cut. No lies.
That's your REM cycle, if you wake up in the middle of your deep sleep state you'll feel like shit regardless of if you've been sleeping 2 hours or 20, if you wake up in a light sleep state you'll feel great regardless of time slept, that's why I can't nap because I go into a deep sleep very early and unless I sleep for a good few hours I feel terrible every time.
I can go into a deep sleep at random intervals in my sleep it seems. Might explain why it's rare for me to dream. I also thought that REM and internal clock were the same? Odd.
JASON Also, the scizzors are the best choice. Least pain, quickest cut. No lies.
Didn't think scissors would cut through bone.
I can go into a deep sleep at random intervals in my sleep it seems. Might explain why it's rare for me to dream. Odd.
I'm not a sleep expert but I think you dream everytime you sleep, but remembering what you dreamt of or if you dreamt at all after waking up is the key.
Didn't think scissors would cut through bone. I believe after 1 hour 50% of what you remembered in the dream is lost. Close to 90% after 3/5 hours if I'm remembering this correctly.
I'm not a sleep expert but I think you dream everytime you sleep, but remembering what you dreamt of or if you dreamt at all.
This is true, as I read that most people don't remember their dreams unless something in reality references towards it, and that if a person stops dreaming (theres no normal way of telling if you dream or not if you can't remember) you slowly lose your grip on sanity.
Clocks, clocks everywhere.
I've heard that the dreams almost always remembered are the ones we have 30 seconds after we go to sleep and 30 seconds before we wake up.
if im deprived of a time keeping method.. the first week or two i am lost, then i start guiding myself

There are MANY cases of normal people (who have been studied) who do not show the symptoms of dreaming and right after they wake up cannot remember any dream.

If you don't enter REM sleeping (thats when you start to dream by the way) your mental reasoning, among other things, becomes less and less reasonable over time. Now what was that you mentioned about studies?
Almost every time somebody asks for the time (as in 9 times out of 10) I'll usually give them the time correct to within 2 minutes on either side. Like yesterday my girlfriend asked me the time and I was like, "around about 25 past 3... 3:23?" She pulled her phone out and looked at it and it was 3:24. It's become somewhat of a running joke because nobody (even me) picked up on it until lately.
The books "Sleep and Dreaming" and "The Neuropsychology of Dreaming".
Stop bullshitting my thread, you crazy fucking person. That should say a lot, coming from Samson.
My internal clock uses a 25 hour day. I don't sleep like a normal person...
Stop bullshitting my thread, you crazy fucking person. That should say a lot, coming from Samson.
First of all I gave you real sources and you refute them without any explanation? Your second statement also seems incredibly cocky.
First of all I gave you real sources and you refute them without any explanation? Your second statement also seems incredibly cocky.
Seriously, are you hitting on me? I will kiss those lips off of your stupid fucking face.
alls ive noticed, is that i'm really oddly good at guessing the time. like when i'd be sitting at school and be daydreaming for a while, i'll be like 'hmm i bet by now its about 11:12' and a looottttt more times than not, it is.
I've recently updated my desktop to no longer display the time, as its been fucking with me severely. Its appears that either my internal clock is as frosty as it gets, or I'm being harassed by time itself. I can perfectly pinpoint when its either 29 or 35 seconds into a minute, and this has led to major anxiety and changes in action (OCD-like behavior). It even led to look into the number 35 in depth, because I was beginning to feel it has a negative connotation to it. I was just curious... Does anybody else on FP constantly bother on checking the number of the time? Do you feel anything when you see a certain time? Also related to 35 - I somehow look at the clock perfectly when its (for example) 2:35, 3:35, 4:35, etc. INTERNAL CLOCK DISCUSSION, GO!
Dude I do the exact same thing, but it doesnt happen regualary, it also happens when i sleep, i am borderline isomniac and i sleep during the day, and i regulary wake up at the exact same time, or i check the time randomly and its the same.
For me it's the number 3. 3:33 AM or 3:33 PM are the times I mostly look at the clock right at. Anyone know about this? Is this a certain time in history, or some other meaning.

I get up every day at 7 am. No matter what. I'm okay with it though, I just fall back to sleep if I want to.
4:44 for me. But I can recall seeing 3:33 on more occasions then I should remember.
3:33, it's just fucking weird. I see it SO often.
My internal clock is fucked up beyond all belief. I have no sense of time besides "Hey, it's getting dark."
My internal clock is fucked up beyond all belief. I have no sense of time besides "Hey, it's getting dark."
Or "Hey, it's getting light."
Almost always when i look at the clock when i head to bed or wake up, its fucking "#:59" :argh:
eh. i just look at the clock every now and then to establish how long i have to mess about on the web before i gotta get ready for work or whatever. my internal clock's about as reliable as a check from MC hammer's bank account.
Whenever I'm walking around with my friends and someone asks, "Hey, anyone know what time it is?" And I usually go, "I dunno, but it's probably around (Insert time here)" And I'm usually right.
During the school year mine is quite good, but during summer it's bad. I guess because there isn't much of a reason to keep on sleep schedules, etc.

I'm normally within about 1 minute on either side of the actual time like 90% of the time. But the other 10% of the time when I'm wrong? I'm off by like half an hour  So I'm either dead on, or way off. Never really in between.
