I think its time for you to get the fuck out and go stroll around with your retarded friends from /b/.
Seriously, righthaven is just a piece of shit. These types of companies should not exist, exploiting DMCA with goals of capitializing off of it. In my opinion, they are worse than the pirates that exploit the freedom of the internet. These are either fair use, or DMCA violations. But that still goes with to saying, righthaven is worse than pirates, or people who unwillingly knew that this violated their copyrights.
Makes me sick on they prey on the weak for their own gains.
Compwhizzy needs to add robots.txt to the server root to block the googlebot entering certain directories.

I can't believe that loophole, and how it is legal in any terms.
I didn't make the forums privtae, garry did that.
Secret Club, no girls allowed.

Maybe Garry can take care of the Googlebot
Guests only steal bandwidth and slow the forums down, if they don't want to register they don't contribute in keeping Facepunch alive. I am not talking about registered members browsing Facepunch in a location where they can't / don't want to log in, because this is justified.
RightHaven filed a lawsuit against Garry for users taking content of RightHaven's articles to post In the News.
RightHaven has a history of doing so for cash. They are notable for buying the rights for an article that another website copied (For example, they see X Article here copied from another news article, RightHaven buys the rights to that article then sues FP), then suing them. By using a loophole, they only file lawsuits against websites that do not have a registered DMCA agent, meaning they can file the lawsuit immediately rather then e-mailing the webmaster a DMCA notice giving them a chance to take it down and preventing the lawsuit.
What absolute cunts.
Don't RightHaven have to give a warning to Garry saying "Please remove this content or we will sue you"?
Surely there's some clause like that.

That is how stupid the loophole is. Since Garry doesn't have a DMCA agent, they can sue him without warning.

There is no such thing as DMCA Lawyer, it's just lawyer. Being that Facepunch Studios is a company now, he probably should have a lawyer on retainer anyway.
Hope Facepunch doesn't get shut down :(

That's shit.

My bad, meant an agent, I just relayed what I saw on the first page.
Maybe Garry wasn't worried of something this stupid happening
Wait, why doesn't Garry have a DMCA agent?

This is what I read. Thanks starpluck.
America's justice system's utterly retarded with all these loopholes.
How can American laws apply to the UK?
How can American laws apply to the UK?
International Treaties.
How can American laws apply to the UK?
That is a good question. Can anyone sum this up for us?

Nevermind
How can American laws apply to the UK?
Because they're using something that is owned by an American company.
Hello global commerce.
Why did we agree to this law...
Chill, people. Just use alts and nobody will know you were browsing the furry porn thread.
You monster.
So how would they present the case?
"Hello we would like to sue them for having articles on their site, even though they gave the source."
I'm not much of a law person, but wouldn't giving the source and not taking credit of the article not be plagiarism?

I know the loophole is there, but its confusing to me.

Facepunch's Amazon Servers are located in the USA, needless to explain why American laws apply to servers on their own soil.
